Mummies, The Glob & More – Monsterland Reanimated by Michael Okon @IAmMichaelOkon
Monsterland Reanimated - Michael Okon

Monsterland Reanimated

Amazon  /  Goodreads

I am loving this horror, apocalyptic, dystopian novel of terror.

Monsterland Reanimated, Book II of the Monsterland series, by Michael Okon picks up where Monsterland, Book I, leaves off.

The world has gone to hell, leaving an apocalyptic, desolate existence.

The kids grew up quick, some faster and more eager than others to step up. Danger dogs their every step, but the band of youngsters will stop at nothing to banish evil.

Igor and Dr Frasier have duties dictated by the now deceased Vincent?

Motive =.Power.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

First it was zombies, werewolves, and vampires. What will they be fighting this time? Do humans stand a chance against them? I am sure it will be gruesome.and deadly.

What’s more dangerous than a speeding bullet? Whisp soda.

Action, adventure, suspense, thrills and chills, abound in this twisted horror novel that makes Jurassic Park look tame.

Monsterland Reanimated - Michael Okon
After Monsterland has imploded, the entire world is thrown into chaos. World leadership is gone, economies have collapsed, and communications are non-existent. Wyatt must go beyond the boundaries of his small town to reestablish contact with the outside world, and alert the government about a traitor-in-chief.
During his journey he discovers a new threat released from the bowels of the defunct theme park.
When an army of relentless mummies, a life-sucking ooze called The Glob, and a hybrid reanimated Behemoth rise from the depths of Monsterland, who will survive?

Monsterland - Michael Okon When I read the summary for Monsterland I knew I had to read it as it made me think of one of my favorite movies Jurassic Park. I love those movies and I have all three but they are on VCR and so I can’t watch them anymore, bomber. But of course there is Netflix. Monsterland has all my favorite things to read about like zombies, vampires, werewolves and monsters.

Monsterland tells the tale of one man Vincent Konrad who opens up a new theme park in the United States called Monsterland along with six more all over the world all opening on the same night. Vincent opens the park in order to give vampires, zombies and werewolves a place to live; their food is provided for them and a safe from humans, a nice clean and protective environment.

Wyatt Baldwin is given tickets to opening night with backstage passes to see how the park is run. Wyatt takes his little brother Sean and his two best friends, Melvin and Howard Drucker and boy are they in for the ride of their life. Wyatt, Sean, Melvin and Howard Drucker are all very excited to be going to the grand opening of Monsterland and are expected to have the time of their life but things may not turn out just as they were expecting. The boys can’t wait to take a ride on the Werewolf River Run, walk through Vampire Village to be drawn in and mesmerized by the best band ever and last but not least take a stroll through Zombieville.

Monsterland theme park is a great idea for humans to put their minds at ease thinking that the monsters are now locked up but is the true monsters here behind bars? Werewolves are not much different from humans in wanting to live their life the way they want and be free. Yeah they eat meat but so do humans. And Vampires just want the same thing to be free and live their life like they want too. Yes they drink blood and mostly human blood but who’s to say if given the chance and they are treated equal to humans if they would only drink animal blood I mean it is not any different than humans eating an animal. Now zombies I don’t think they could ever be treated equal they are mindless, brainless sick humans who can’t think for themselves any longer. Who is the real monster? Man, werewolves, vampires or zombies?

Once I started reading Monsterland I couldn’t put it down I had to keep reading wondering if Wyatt, Sean, Melvin, Howard Drucker, Carter, Jade were going to lead us next. Would they get eaten by the werewolves? Would the vampires drain them of their blood? Or would the zombies eat them? Monsterland will take you on the ride of your life and this has never been more of a true statement. Now the question is what will your ride be like? Will you be thrilled or will you be scared?

Yes I invite you to come join, Wyatt, Sean, Melvin and Howard Drucker on their ride through Monsterland.

Giveaway & Review – Monsterland by Michael Okon @IAmMichaelOkon @pumpupyourbook
Monsterland - Michael Okon

Author: Michael Okon
Publisher: Wordfire Press
Pages: 232
Genre: Monsters

I was so excited to get my hands on Monsterland by Michael Okon. Jurassic Park step aside. You think dinosaurs could do some damage, how about vampires, werewolves and zombies caged up and put on display?

The virus had changed the world and in The badlands of California, Copper Valley, to be precise, Vincent Konrad came to town, threw some money around and opened his park, using the plague ridden to attract tourist.

What cold possible go wrong? LOL

Wyatt has a big heart. In times of trouble, he is one of those who wil share what little they have. When he pays for a meal for what he thinks is a homeless man, he receives a special invite to Monsterland from Vincent Konrad himself.

I think we all know how deceiving charisma can be…so everyone should be very leery of Vincent. Does he have ulterior motives? Is there more going on than meets the eye?

Of course, we know something will go wrong. Just how wrong is the question.

Action and adventure, blood and gore, friends and enemies. So much more going on than I first suspected and it takes a turn that was a wonderful surprise as I always want the worst that can happen.

Monsterland - Michael Okon While definitely better than a couple of books I’ve read lately, Monsterland failed to thrill me. Its definitely not scary or even creepy, so I don’t think it really needs to be in the Horror category. I think whoever classified it just stuck it there because it has zombies, werewolves, and vampires.

The plot’s a bit cliche. A group of teenagers get invited to the grand opening of Monsterland. Of course, its the grand opening of a major theme park, so you know things are going to go horribly wrong. After the crap hits the fan, its non-stop action, world-domination plans, occasional inquiries about defining humanity, and the requisite last minute plot twist, etc, etc.

I will say that his take on werewolves, vampires, and zombies, while not completely original was mildly refreshing. Eh, it was a good enough read that it doesn’t fall into the “meh” category, but not good enough I’ll go around recommending it to my friends to read. I do want to add that the other works I’ve read by this author are much better.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author for review consideration.
