Dodie Clark & Her New Book! (Youtuber books...)

Confession: I'm a bit of a Dodie fangirl. I enjoy her YouTube videos and her music. I'm kind of shocked I was approved to read this book, as I am a little "nobody" in the blogger/reviewer world, but it has happened, I'm reading it and liking it so far.

I kind of really like her. She's quirky and has a good singing voice. Her videos usually have meaning other than getting views for money, at least I think so. I don't watch every one of her videos. In fact, I do not watch every video of any person I follow on YouTube. I just feel like she is genuine. She talks about her mental health openly, isn't afraid to be herself, in fact a lot of her videos is sans makeup, even with acne/acne scars and I find that so refreshing. I think we should not be so focused on how we look. So we get pimples? So we gain weight? We're all human and these things happen! Dodie can be a role model to other people with similar experiences, though watch her with caution, as there have been viewers that mentioned watching people talk about anxiety, depression...etc can be triggering for them, because sometimes she is known to get in a dark place with her Instagram and Snap Chat stories.

In this video, Dodie wonders if there is a such thing as oversharing when it comes to depression...etc

Am I oversharing?

In this video she follows up and apologizes.

Follow Up

I'm not big on YouTuber books, but got really excited for Dodie's book. Maybe she will change my mind about these sort of books and I will give more a chance. Though I am not sure I follow too many people who have published.

There is Connie Glynn "Noodlerella's" fiction novel, which I am curious about. Undercover Princess by Connie Glynn. The name and plot sound quite cliche and I can swear I have read something exactly like it before, like on Wattpad, so that is bugging me! But I do want to give it a try, as I enjoy Connie's YouTube channels as well.

---

The only YouTube book I have tried to read is:

Gabbie is from "The Gabbie Show" and I've only watched a couple of her videos.

And this book wasn't for me, sadly.

great story and characters
Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack Series) - Suzanne Wright

Riley woke up with a horrible hangover from Tequila. Then she remember the Phoenix had thrown a birthday party for their head enforcer Tao. Riley had come to the pack six months ago for sanctuary with two orphaned shifter  - a cheetah cub who was two named Dexter and a viper who was four named Savannah.  Riley was a lone raven shifter who refused to give the Phoenix pack a reason she wasn’t with a flock. Even then and despite the fact she hadn’t accepted or decline their offer to join the pack. And still treated Riley like she was pack. Or most of them did. Riley rarely slept the whole night through. Then Riley realized she was sleeping next to Tao Lukas the head enforcer. Worse off the had sex and  a lot of it through the night and Tao didn’t even like Riley even though he may want her and acted possessive of her. Worse off Riley’s raven wanted Tao with a primitive intensity since Riley had met Tao. Tao was fearless, brutally blunt, action oriented and forceful. Tao had no time for patience or diplomacy. Riley admired Tao’s refusal to tailor his judgements to placate others. Riley had super bad judgement when it came to men. Riley told Tao they needed to forget the night before had ever happened and went into the bathroom Tao charged into the bathroom and told Riley she didn’t want to forget last night that she wanted to do it over and over and so did he. Tao also said he would not let Riley forget the night before. At first Tao didn’t like Riley but over time Riley had charmed both Tao and his wolf. And earned her respect with her wit, fearlessness, and the protectiveness she displayed for the young. Riley kept most people at an emotional distance. Tao knew Riley argued with him, snorted at him, challenged him, and poked him. Tao asked Riley to let him in just a little and lat what they had play out and she surprised Tao by saying okay. Riley’s uncles were having a surprise anniversary party shot for them by Riley’s flock  Riley’s good friend Lucy- was also the alpha’s daughter-  showed up to ask Riley to please attend as they uncles would be so happy then and Riley finally agreed but so did Tao. Lucy’s uncle’s- Ethan and Max- had mated before she was born but when her parents died when Riley was four and her uncles stepped right in to raise her. Riley had left her flock four years ago and hadn’t been back.

I loved this story and everything about it. A slightly different slant- a wolf shifter and a raven shifter being true mates also how Riley brought to the pack A cheetah cub and a young viper and all in one wolf pack and loved it. I missed sleep reading this story I just didn’t want to put this down. Two settings and I was done. Never lost my interest for a second. I enjoyed this and everything about it. I loved how Tao’s and Riley’s relation grew as time went on. I loved how the pack excepted Riley and Dexter and Savannah. There was nothing to complain about I have a new favorite shifter book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and action in this story and I highly recommend.

Fiercell Obsessions
Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack Series) - Suzanne Wright

This is a repost because I accidentally deleted the post.

This is about shifters. In this we get a wolf, Tao, and a raven, Riley. Ripley has a past she that isn't sunshine and butterflies. She decided to leave her flock and ended up with the Phoenix pack.Tao is lead enforcer for the pack and has been a pretty major character in most, maybe all of the books so far. Looking at the past, the first book in this series when published, conatained some very erotica, even more so than what this series now contains, then later parts were edited out... lol. For some reason throughout this book I kept on thinking about a certain part in which Tao was involved, a very graphic part.. Anyways, back to this book. I really think this coupling was a good choice.

If you are a fan of this series, you know what to expect. If this is something you are considering then start from the beginning. Expect graphic sex, a bit more erotica than most shifter books, but not quite erotica. Of course you get mating, fun laughs, and zack great group of characters.

The Marine's Obsession (Bad Boy Obsessio... The Marine's Obsession (Bad Boy Obsessions) - Amber Burns I got a quarter way into this thing and couldn't continue. The writing was giving me a headache, and Vanna had the personality of a wet dishcloth. *lol*

Obsessions - Bryce Evans

Obsessions was actually a really awesome and unique story, I had a lot of fun reading it. It's like one of those rare gems that once you find it you go all "my precious" on it. I was delighted by the idea of a "shifter" only city and said city being run by several different types of shifters. I thought the mixture of different types of shifters all living together was a cool and cohesive idea, normally there all kept apart.

The story mainly revolves around best friends London and Zoey, and of course Zoey's big brother Ryder. I enjoyed the changing points of view and then a couple full pages detailing Ryder and Londons perspective. Zoey and London are wonderfully written, I can actually picture them as people, which rarely happens with PNR stories. Both these women represented their age brackets well, London personified the tougher type of gal, while Zoey was softer and needed more of a helping hand. Ryder both intrigued and annoyed me. The supporting characters were all well fleshed out, I could easily see how this group works.

Now for the bad guys, they were just totally hate-able. When I read about them I honestly thought it was a mash up of Cruella de Vil married the Governor from the walking dead, because it's a hubby and wife combo! They were so two faced and evil, ugh! Perfect bad guys for this story!

I'd definitely recommend this book to shifter and paranormal lovers. The story was well written, it had an easy flow about it. Nothing was really rushed relationship wise, it slowly developed and then exploded;) I'd definitely read more from this author.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review via LoP on goodreads.com
