A Wicked Snow - Gregg Olsen
A Wicked Snow - Gregg Olsen
I am really starting to enjoy this author! His stories are right up my alley. I love a murder mystery, real or fictional. It's my ideal book!
This story did not disappoint!!!!
There was a huge mystery surrounding this investigator and her mother. Her mother disappeared and the circumstances shrouding it were unlike anything I have heard of. It was a wild read! It was twisted, dark, slightly graphic and horrifying at times, but a great story!
I could even see a next book for this one. One that might give us more insight in to Hannah. Especially given the information she knows now.
I definitely look forward to reading more from this author and highly recommend his stories to anyone looking for a thrill!

Finally
Can't Get You Out of My Bed (Love & Luck #6) - Isla Olsen

This is book #6 in the Love & Luck series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Ben has been in love with Aidan for as long as he can remember.  He is actively trying to move on with his life.  The problems seems to be with the fact that they run into each other.  Have friends in common.

Aidan has been avoiding going home.  He knows if he does he will come eye to eye and body to body with the very man he loves.  The one he can never seem to get over, no matter how far across the world.

This couple was such a joy to read.  A long time coming, this series is heartwarming, sexy, and seriously fun.  These characters are complex and genuine.  I love reading about them and hope to again.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Changes
Two Men and a Baby - Isla Olsen

This is book #5 in the Love & Luck series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order.

Josh has been talked into going to his ex's wedding.  All of his friends and family is going to attend, so he is expected to.  Then he sees Connor, and how much he has changed.  The attraction is stronger, if that is even possible.

Connor knows he has no future with Josh, so he must keep his focus.  When he suddenly has a child to care for, though, he wants to consult the best expert he knows.  Then they fins out they have plenty in common.  I give this a 5/5 Kitty's Paws Up!

Daily Life in 18th Century England by Kirstin Olsen
Daily Life in 18th-Century England - Kirstin Olsen

This is a textbook, but it's a very readable one and quite interesting if you are curious about the subject, without the academic pretension or dryness that can drag works down. Chapters cover subjects such as food and drink, clothing, entertainment, politics, religion, education, race and class, family relationships, the economy, the state of science, and more. The second edition reorganizes the chapters and expands a few of them, as well as including more primary documents, but the short, clearly labeled chapters of the first edition are handy if you want to skip around and read it in bite-sized chunks.

A couple of fun facts: clocks with minute hands were a new thing in the 18th century (previously they only had hour hands), and non-poor people were mortally offended by poor people keeping dogs.

I wish I could find such cogent, detailed and accessible studies of other parts of the world during this time period, but if you're interested in England, Olsen has you covered.

Virtually Screwed - Isla Olsen

This is book #2, in the fabulous Love & Lick series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel, but I would hate for you to miss out.  I recommend reading this series in order.

Owen has been attracted to his brother's best friend for some time.  Who wouldn't find those sexy abs hot?  Since he only dates women, it was never an issue.  Then he finds  himself excited about someone he met on a game platform.  Until he finds out who he is.....

Blake has found someone on a game that he plays.  Someone he can truly talk to.  He finds that a rarity these days.  When things change to the sexy, he finds himself turned on to the point of the ridiculous.  Then he finds out who it is he has been "sexting" with.

Such an incredible story.  I was literally hooked right from the very first chapter.  The characters are so very sexy.  So very meant to be.  The author has made such an amazing series.  This is a good addition to it.  I cannot wait for the next installment.  I am seriously addicted.  This is such a great read.  I give this a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
