Purr-fect Getaway (A Wonder Cats Mystery) (Volume 5) - Harper Lin

Bea and Aunt Astrid kidnap Cath and take her on vacation to a spa. Weird things are occurring here. Cath sees things. A murder occurs and our ladies must try to figure out why and how to help.

I do not want Bea and Aunt Astrid to plan a vacation for me. Cath's vacation was a vacation from hell. So much happens to her and at the resort. Once again they have to get involved to protect civilians. Jake is also affected but does not want to tell Bea. Cath does meet someone at the resort but I don't like him. Blake is a jerk but does try to redeem himself. I hope Cath gives him a chance to at least explain. I don't feel the two of them are done with each other yet and I don't trust her new guy.

The story was interesting. It was scary this time as Cath, Bea, and Aunt Astrid go deeper into witch mode to discover what is happening and who is responsible and why. What they discover is chilling.

I hope there is another book as I don't feel these ladies are done with us yet.

The Scariest Tail (A Wonder Cats Mystery) (Volume 4) - Harper Lin

John Roy has committed suicide and his wife said that two black eyed children came into the house to use the phone the night before his death. Astrid, Bea, and Cath know something is wrong and begin to research what it is and what to do to stop it. They realize someone has called a very powerful demon who feeds off fear. Can they stop it?

I was held enthralled by this tale. Evil is upon Wonder Falls and it is up to our heroines to sort it out. Cath is also getting closer to acknowledging her feelings for Blake. I loved watching the women and their cats fight back the evil. I enjoyed that Cath was not as well behaved as she should have and suffered the consequences for it. I am po'd at Blake. I'd like to smack him upside the head.

I love this series and cannot wait to read book 5.

The Wonder Cats Mysteries 3-Book Box Set: Books 1-3 - Harper Lin

This box set of the Wonder Cats Mysteries contains books 1-3 of paranormal cozy mysteries.

The first book is A HISS-TORY OF MAGIC which introduces the town of Wonder Falls, Ontario and the Greenstone family of witches.  The world being is well-done as we are introduced to the town and the characters.  I like the first person point-of-view.  The mystery kept me enthralled trying to figure it out.

I liked Cath, Bea, and Astrid.  I also liked the cats Treacle, Marshmallow, and Peanut Butter and how they work together with each other and their humans.  I want to know what happens with Cath, Min, and Blake.

Next up is PAWSITIVELY DEAD.  Someone is raising the dead and not doing a very good job of it.  Cath, Bea, and Astrid have to figure out how it is being done as well as who is behind it.  Bea’s marriage is also on the rocks as Jake found out Bea’s secret in the first book A HISS-TORY OF MAGIC.

I loved the build-up of suspense in this book.  I was on the edge of my seat as I followed the trail of magic and how characters linked into it.  The mystery was good.  My instinct is telling me that Blake is onto Cath but I cannot be sure if he remembers incidents from the first book or if he is himself linked into the magic.  I’ll have to keep reading to find out.

Last in this boxed set is CAT-ASTROPHIC SPELLS where Cath cannot talk to cats because something evil is blocking their communication.  A man who does not know he is a medium lets Astrid know when the murders are happening.  The dark has come to Wonder Falls and it up to Cath and her family to bring the light back.

I enjoyed these three books.  I am looking forward to more of the series.  Mostly because I want to know when Cath and Blake will let go of their bad beginning and open up to each other.  The storytelling was great.  I was on the edge of my seat as I read these books.  I wanted to know how the evil would be contained.  I liked the cast of characters—witch and civilian.   Well worth reading!
