Awaken (Patronus #1)
Awaken (Patronus #1) - Sarah M. Ross Lucy Donovan is on her way to celebrate her upcoming graduation from college, when a horrific accident with a drunk driver ends her mortal life. She wakes up in a strange place to find out that she has a new destiny: to become a Patronus (a guardian of spirits). Trying to adjust to her new environment, Lucy will find herself going up against spirits who don't want her help, vampires wanting to steal the souls she and others are guarding and even a stuck-up British royal. To further complicate matters, she feels a growing connection to one of her team mates, Max. His behaviour leaves Lucy confused and intrigued to say the least. Waking up dead is the least of her problems, but it is the beginning of the greatest adventure of her life.I'm extremely grateful that I won this book in a swag competition! I wasn't sure what to expect, but boy it didn't disappoint! I loved it! As I began to read Lucy's story, I became immersed in her world. Sarah has created a fantastic adventure/romance. I love her style of writing, and I could easily imagine the characters in my head. Lucy is mature for her age, which is understandable as you get to know her. She is definitely feisty, and does not back down from situations. This tends to get her into trouble, but she just keeps coming out swinging! Her team mates are a great ensemble, and compliment her hot-headedness. Hmm Max! What can I say! He's gorgeous! *fanning oneself!*. Mind you, James and Adam aren't too far behind either! There is only one other girl on the team, Cassie. She's just as feisty as Lucy, but she is more experienced, and is the first friend Lucy makes in her new life. I recommend this book if you want to go on a fantastic adventure. I am now looking forward to reading book two: Avenge, which is due to be released in late summer/fall this year.

Avenge: The Patronus: Book Two
Avenge: The Patronus: Book Two - Sarah M. Ross This is the second book in The Patronus series. I loved it!Lucy Donovan is a fantastic character. She is headstrong, stubborn and loving. She is also a Patronus, a guardian to recently deceased souls. She, along with her Patronus friends, are on a mission to locate all the stolen souls. But there is one soul that is even more precious that has been stolen, that of Lucy's sister, Jessica. This is a fantastic story that continues from the end of the first book. I struggled to put this book down! In fact, I read this in one sitting! I loved this series from when I won the first book in a competition. It is a completely original story that is full of twists and turns, action, danger, romance and adventure. I loved the relationship between all the characters, especially Lucy and Max. They are HOT together. Then again, they are soul mates! However, what makes it even more special to me is the friendship between Lucy and Cassie. These two are very much like sisters rather than best friends. However, all is not sweetness and light. There is danger in the form of vampires, who are stealing souls. These are some very nasty dudes! I certainly wouldn't like to meet up with these vampires! They are very creepy! Happily, the end of the book left me very warm and tingly! I am now looking forward to reading the next book in The Patronus series, which will be James's story, Avowed, and is due for release in the Summer.Sarah M. Ross has created a fantastic series that I'm in love with. Her writing style is fluid and fast paced; I would read anything written by this author in the future. I highly recommend this book (and series) if you are looking for a fantastic YA romance. Please note that due to some scenes of a sensual nature and some bad language, this book is for the older YA age range (16+). - Lynn Worton

Atone (The Patronus: #2.5)
Atone - Sarah M. Ross This is a fantastic novella! I have read Awaken, so when I found out that the author had written Max's story, I quickly got myself a copy.Max Kensington is a fantastic character. He is a loving husband and father. Tragedy sees that stripped away, and he is left grief-stricken. For many years, whilst performing his duties as a Patronus (a guardian to spirits), he has remained bitter. It's not until he meets Lucy that he realises that she is his soulmate.Reading this novella has given me a huge insight into Max and his actions in Awaken. It has made me love him even more! Losing a loved one is hard, and his bitterness and grief are palpable. Unfortunately, this also has him acting like a total jerk. Finding Lucy may just be his salvation. I am now looking forward to reading the next book in The Patronus Series, Avenge.Sarah M. Ross has written a wonderful companion piece to the main Patronus series. I highly recommend this novella to those who have read Awaken. I also highly recommend reading Awaken and Atone to those who have yet to read this fantastic YA Romance series. - Lynn Worton
