TOUR, REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY - Primal Instinct (Prowlers #1) by Ally Parker
Primal Instinct (Prowlers #1) - Ally Parker

@XpressoTours, @AllyParker01 - #Adult, #Paranormal, #Romance, 4 out of 5 (very good)

Primal Instinct is the first book in the Prowlers series, and we dive straight in with Kenzie. She is being blackmailed to do all sorts of nefarious acts, just to keep her sister alive. She isn't proud of what she's done or doing, but will do whatever it takes to keep her sister alive. Jaxx is a born shifter, complete with self-filling glyph that shows just how much humanity he has left. Here's a hint - it isn't much. The only thing that will save him from going rogue is to find his fated mate.

This story is full of twists and turns, with bad guys who are evil and yet you have sympathy toward them. Then there are good guys who do bad things, plus bad guys who appear all bad (I'm reserving judgment on them though!). With dodgy companies, weres going missing, blackmailing brothers, a new player for Kenzie when she isn't sure if she is friend or foe, there is an awful lot going on in here. It all works though.

It is a fast-paced story, and if you're anything like me, you will find it hard to put down. With no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed, I thoroughly enjoyed this first foray in the Prowlers world. Absolutely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

My Only Love
My One and Only - Kristan Higgins

Harper and Nick run into one another at their siblings wedding.  Yes, you heard that right.  Her sister is marrying his brother.  It is a weird situation all around.

Harper is begging her sister to stop getting married.  To wait and see how things go.  They have not known each other long.  It worries Harper, since for her sister it is her 3rd marriage already.

Nick admits to her he still loves her.  Even when she brings a soon to be ex-boyfriend to the shindig with her.  He saves her when tragedy strikes, and she realizes that her feeling for him may still be there.

Nick and Harper married young themselves, and had a misunderstanding that grand slammed its way into a divorce.  If only they had a good example, or strength and trust in one another - they would have made it.

This visit gets prolonged since, she cannot get home and has to road-trip it with Nick or wait several days for a flight.  They seem to get along pretty well and it helps smooth over some ruffled feathers on the way back.  I enjoyed the character development and I am glad how it turns out.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Edge Of Hunger (Primal Instinct)
Edge Of Hunger - Rhyannon Byrd This month’s TBR Challenge read gave me a choice between romantic suspense and paranormal romance. I read a fair amount of suspense (romantic and otherwise) anyway, so I decided to dig into my little stack of romances with random creatures. I came up with Edge of Hunger by Rhyannon Byrd, a 2009 HQN release. This book is first in the ongoing Primal Instinct series. I found it an engaging but rather strange read. I enjoyed the steamy romance and the paranormal worldbuilding is a bit of a twist on the shapeshifter idea. I could spot elements that reminded me of other paranormal series I’ve read, but the author definitely puts an original spin on her world. However, there’s more than a little bit of the crazy and cliched worked in there, too. While I did enjoy parts of this book, I also spent way too much time rolling my eyes and/or cracking up over some of the overwrought wackiness, so in the end I think I’d give this a C+.This is a partial review.
