True Love and Other Disasters By Rachel Gibson $1.99
True Love and Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson (2009-05-14) - Rachel Gibson;

Disaster Number One: Men

Hard knocks and hunger taught Faith Duffy not to believe in love. Still, when she married her very wealthy—and very old—husband, she became the perfect wife. And then he went to that big bank in the sky, leaving Faith with lonely nights, a pile of money, and a total mess of a pro hockey team. Heck, Faith doesn't even watch hockey!

Disaster Number Two: Passion

But most of America and half of Canada is watching Ty Savage. His lethal sex appeal and deadly right hook make him the favorite of fans. For most of Ty's life, he's dreamed of winning the Stanley Cup. The last thing he needs is a bimbo messing up his plans.

Disaster Number Three: Love

Faith loathes Ty on sight, but she can't stop thinking about him all day . . . and night. Then a moment of temptation ends with Faith in Ty's bed, and she begins to see there's more to him than sex appeal. Ty discovers there's far more to Faith than beauty and billions. But a relationship with Faith is impossible, and falling in love—that would be a disaster.

Entertaining and enjoyable.
True Love and Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson (2009-05-14) - Rachel Gibson;

I was actually surprised how much I liked this story.

My expectations were low - because of the setting with the playmate and the hockey player.

But it turned out to be a really good read.

I liked Faith. She didn't pity herself, didn't throw her sob story around, she stood by her decisions to work with what nature gave her (her body, her beauty) to make a decent living.

The romance processed a bit quick, but since it was clear it would be a fairy tale like story (not with "real" people who meet, talk, get to know each other in normal situations) it fit with the whole plot.

Rescue Me
Rescue Me - Rachel Gibson I spent most of this book thinking "Oh god, just get to the fucking point already!"

Just nonstop bullshit about the town, the people, the past. I knew way more about characters that weren't even IN the book than I needed to.

Vince and Sadie don't even have much page time together and it's mostly lame sex scenes and thinking about how they're only friends with benefits. Vince fucked up pretty badly but Sadie let him get away with zero groveling. The side plot shows up at the very end and isn't resolved at all. Not even taking a step towards resolved.

This was a complete waste of time and very frustrating. Everyone I know has rated this 4-5 stars and I feel like I've missed something. Maybe I should head back into the urban fantasy genre.

Southern Sass & Charm
Just Kiss Me - Rachel Gibson

“Tell me what you want.” His lips pressed into hers, not quite a kiss and entirely too short. “Ask anything.”
…”Henry,” she whispered and rose onto the balls of her feet. She looked into his deep brown eyes and swallowed hard. She’d never been the kind of girl to ask anyone for anything. “Just kiss me.”

If you combine two headstrong characters, lots of Southern sass and charm, and a complicated history, you get Just Kiss Me. Let me just say that Rachel Gibson knows how to write one heck of an entertaining and sizzling hot romance.

Rachel Gibson is one of my tried and true favorite authors when it comes to solid, dependable contemporary romance. I know each book will be well-plotted out and will have great chemistry between the hero and heroine. Of course some couples I like more than others, but I know I’ll enjoy the story overall anyway.
