I read this many years ago. Loved the this series and this started the crazy. We meet Carla, Trevor and Joe, who are the center of the whole series and it spins out into laughter, romance and the crazy. Grab this one and prepare for a wild ride.

Lilly feels like her life is falling apart.  She has lost another job, and it has her feeling low about herself.  Then she gets an additional dog walking client.  He intrigues her, and she finds him incredibly attractive.

 

Easton is totally enamored with Lilly.  Right from the moment they meet he cannot help but think she is so beautiful.  She seems to love dogs, and is great with them.  Since he finds himself unexpectedly the caregiver of a puppy he needs her help.

 

This story has such a great balance.  I felt like it had a great base story. Was full of humor, angst, heat, and more.  I had to read it all in one sitting, since I did not want to put it down.  The characters are meant to be and it shows. I give it a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Another re-read (first time listen) of a Stephen King book. I figured this was as good a time as any to re-experience The Stand. My goal this year is to listen to all the Stephen King books I have previously read. This year seems like it is being written by Stephen King, so yeah.

This is one of my favorite Stephen King books and the audio version did not disappoint.

This was a good first book in a series (duology). To be honest, this book I cover-shopped. I saw the beautiful cover and had to read the book. Luckily I enjoyed the book.

I really enjoyed the world and work building and the story just as much.

As some have stated before it is quite brutal and has some graphic scene in there, so if you have a weak stomach skip it or just skim these parts.

The only thing for me that I didn’t like was, that parts of the book were slow, even in the beginning and it made it hard for me to connect to some characters.

I wasn’t sure if I would like Kammani or not in the beginning and she just comes over as annoying and jealous brat, but I ended up liking her for the most part.

Overall I enjoyed the book and I’m looking forward to the second book to see what is to come.

But what caught me the most off guard were the supernatural/horror elements in a book that I assumed was in the thriller/mystery/suspense genre. If you like horror, and you are a fan of Stephen King, than this book will totally be your bag.
