Raven
Raven (Delirium, #2.5) - Lauren Oliver

Now this short story was really nice. It's by far my favorite of the three independent short stories (although I haven't read Alex yet)

In this short story from the Delirium series, we get a glimpse of Raven's past and find out how her relationship with Tack happened.

She was one of my favorite characters in the series so I really enjoyed her narration.

Raven - Lauren Oliver This review is also available on my blog.

***

I was really excited to get into Raven's head cause she's one of my favorite characters from Delirium trilogy thanks to her leader-like attitude and tough personality. We get to know more about Raven's past from this short story, how she evolves from a scared teenager when she first arrives in the Wilds with Blue, her relationship with Tack and her decision to help Lena saving Julian. Sometimes Raven's attitude is a bit harsh in Pandemonium or Requeim, but now I understand what she has been through before and that makes me respect her more.

My only complain was the confusion I had when I started this short story. I admit it was a bit hard for me to adjust to the timeline (this story is set near the end of Pandemonium) cause I already read Requiem. And it goes back and forth between Raven's past and present. But overall, this is a very nice short story. Just saying, I think I would enjoy Requiem more if there was Raven's POV in it.

Raven - Lauren Oliver I am seriously a sucker for these Delirium short stories, especially when they're always about such interesting characters! Raven gave so much insight into her character. Even though she's present in the other books, you don't get to see much of her past. In the short, you find out about when she first came to the Wilds, how she met Tack, and what happened when she rescued Lena and Julian. This story, for me, gave Raven a more human side - her suffering was more evident. It brought back all my Blue feels though. And then (Requiem spoiler)SHE'S PREGNANT AND THEN SHE DIES. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME LAUREN OLIVER. WHY. Seeing her relationship with Tack was super sweet though. It was hinted that they were romantically involved throughout Pandemonium but it was finally said outright. Tack and Raven are definitely my new otp. Raven was probably my favorite out of all the Delirium short stories, but that's probably just because Raven is my favorite of the three characters I've read so far. The shorts definitely add a lot to these characters when thinking back to the books.

Raven - Lauren Oliver You know, the only problem with these Delirium novellas is that their narration is so similar. Be it Hana, Raven or Annabel...all of their narrations sound like Lena's to me. Lauren Oliver can't switch POV's successfully, this was observed in Requiem too so she better stop doing it. I mean, I like her writing, its beautiful at some points but this issue really bugs me.

Raven - Lauren Oliver For more of my reviews, visit Books For YA!We met Raven back in Pandemonium when she saved Lena's life after she escaped to the Wilds and we all know that she was one of the tough female leaders of the Resistance. In this novella you will further understand who she really is and what she had been through to become the person she is now."There are no happy endings, only breaks in the regular action"Raven had a hard time in her few months stay in the Wilds. She need not only have to adapt to her new environment, she also need to take care of Blue's fragile condition. Fortunately, some of the Invalids who welcomed them, helped Raven in taking care of the baby. But one day, Blue got really really sick and no one in the homestead know what to do. That's when Tack came along to Raven's life.Tack was known back then as the Thief to the Invalids because he stole supplies from them. No one trusted him even Raven but when he offered to help Blue, Raven doesn't have any choice but to put her faith in him. He proved to be trustworthy and since then, he and Raven were inseparable.Raven's past was alternatingly told while she and Tack was on a mission to save Lena and Julian at the hospital. It was definitely a weird experience to see what was happening in Pandemonium through Raven's eyes but it was still awesome, nevertheless. There was also a big revelation in the end. I'm not going to say what it is, though, but it will surely blow your mind."Love. I love you. I'll always love you, my love. You are the love of my life."Overall, Raven's story was a great addition to the awesome Delirium novellas. Definitely, a must-read for every Delirium fans. :)
