But Angelique herself has never known her past and fears that she will never see her future, thanks to a controlling couple who hold her career and life in their tight fists. Raised by nuns in an abbey in France, she has never known freedom. Brian offers her hope by aiding in her escape from her sequestered life, putting his career on the line.

Is he after the glory of the big story, or is he the one person Angelique can finally trust to help her?

MY REVIEW

This was quite an entertaining and unique read.  I was pulled into the story from the very first page and I found it very difficult to put it down.  Special Angel is a beautiful story of love, loss and forgiveness. It depicts the lengths persons will go to just to satisfy their greed and to cover up their wrongs.  It shows also the ripple effect one person’s action can have on the lives of those close to them.

I totally fell in love with Angelique. She is a singer with the most beautiful voice.  She had led a secluded life for most of her years.  She is strong, innocent and pure.  She has been through so much that I was happy to see her finally gain her freedom and experience love.

My least favourite characters are Morris and Edwina Davidson. It is not possible to go into much detail about these two without giving away the story, so you will just have to read the story for yourself to find out why they disgust me so much.

Special Angel brought out an array of emotions. It made angry, sad and happy. It was a very poignant story that is going to be staying with me for a very long time.

If you love your romance stories with a lot of heart then this book is for you and I hope you enjoy it like I did.

Sex and Sensuality in the Ancient World
Sex and Sensuality in the Ancient World - Giulia Sissa,Allan Cameron,George Staunton You'd think with a title like that that this would be a gripping story about Sex and sexual practices, well yes, but no, it's a cool academic look at the topic, with a conclusion pointing out that others have got the wrong end of the stick with this topic, particularly Foucault. The author is writing for her peers, not for the vaguely interested member of the public and it shows. It is jargon-laden, specialised word ridden and was a pretty good cure for insomnia for me for a few days. I have a degree in Classical Civilization (and History) and was curious about the topic, wanted to see if she could enlighten me a bit more about sex and about how the classical audience saw it, and she did somewhat, but for most of it she ploughed familiar furroughs in the topic. If you're studying the topic or classics this is probably for you, if you're a curious bystander it's dry, academic and reads like a written thesis.

Isle of Sensuality
Isle of Sensuality - Aimée Duffy In Isle of Sensuality by Aimée Duffy, Caitlyn Hart is filming her first movie after many years working in a soap opera. The only bad thing is that her co-star is a week late and has been keeping the shooting on hold until he arrives. She can’t have any delays if she is to make it to her sister’s fashion show, something that she will not forgive Mr. Hot Shot Campbell if she misses.

Jake Campbell has been dealing with helping his brothers with the family company for the past week. He is tired of saving it when it is bound to fold, but they won’t sell no matter what he tells them. Read More...

Sensuality: Caramel Flava II - Zane Not a fan of Zane's writing, but do like the anthologies that she puts together. There are some real gems in this book.
