Release Week Review! Sedona Sin (Sedona Pack #1) Lisa Kessler!

Hello, Readers! Today, I am sharing the first book in the brand new paranormal romance - Sedona Pack series by Lisa Kessler! Enjoy and don't forget to add Sedona Sin to your shelves!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new Alpha will rise...
Asher Mateo’s future was stolen the night the Sedona Pack Alpha marked him to be bitten. Drafted into the werewolf Pack, Asher was forced to become a man he hardly recognized. After heading up a rebellion to overthrow their Alpha, Asher can’t wash the sins from his hands and yearns for a fresh start. But he can’t bring himself to leave Naomi and her twin boys. Without a strong Alpha to lead the Pack, all their lives are at risk from a new threat who will stop at nothing to expose shifters to the world as blood thirsty killers.
Naomi Rossi used to be a graphic designer with a black belt in karate and deadly aim with ninja stars, but under a full moon a wolf bite left her changed forever. Now she’s a single mom to her twin boys, and doing her best to help her friend Asher see himself the way she does, as a leader. But a passing touch, threatens all of her plans as her wolf recognizes this man is destined to be much more than a friend…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This new series is off to an excellent start which isn’t all that surprising considering who the author is. Asher and Naomi are two strong, vibrant characters that easily draw readers into their story as they try to keep everyone alive and struggle with the attraction that sizzles with lots of heated chemistry. The relationship is one that the characters aren’t sure they want to pursue due to their friendship and the events of the past which has lots of turbulent emotions flowing from the pages but it sweet and inspiring as they try to come to terms with all the changes in their life. On top of the relationship issues this story is about one wolf’s rise to Alpha status, a status that he doesn’t think he’s good enough for, or ready for but one that he desperately needs to make happen if he is to pull the pack together and keep them safe from their enemies.

The plot is fast paced and full of thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping danger and surprising twist which keeps readers glued to the pages. The story has several obstacles and adverse elements to be overcome, one being the threat of the shifter world being exposed to the humans, jaguar enemies trying to eliminate and/or capture the Sedona pack, the need of an alpha for the pack and the friction between born and bitten making things difficult for this group of shifters. This new direction in Lisa Kessler’s shifter world is exciting and promises lots of deliciously intriguing future stories as well as continuing her creative and fascinating world of wonderful characters and thrilling suspense that readers can’t help but become enthralled by.

Release Day Review! Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock #12) Faith Hunter!
Dark Queen - Faith Hunter

Jane Yellowrock used to hunt vampires, but now she must fight--and win--beside them.

As Enforcer to the vampire Master of the City of New Orleans, Jane Yellowrock stakes her reputation and her life on keeping her territory safe. But Leo has been issued a blood challenge by the emperor of the European vampires, who seeks to usurp all of his power and possessions. If Leo loses the match to the death, the city will be forfeit, and the people of New Orleans will suffer the consequences. Jane can't let that happen.

Preparing for the duel requires all of Jane's focus, but with so much supernatural power in play, nothing goes according to plan. She has to rely on herself and the very few people she knows she can trust to stand and fight. Only two things are guaranteed: nothing is sacred, and no one is safe.

The Dark Queen is a thrilling and fascinating story in the Jane Yellowrock world.  The characters are strong, compelling and easily draw readers into their world and Jane is such a kick ass heroine that readers can help but get caught up in all the exciting events that takes place. Being an urban fantasy means that there is not a whole lot on the romance front but Jane definitely has a love interest with lots of sizzling chemistry flowing between them and along with all the other fascinating characters in Jane’s world keeps things on a fast track with lots of thrilling action that keeps readers on the edge of their seat and ensures they never have a dull moment and well anticipation and suspense keeps readers holding their breath.

In this story, things are really exciting a war is coming and the suspense builds throughout the story as Jane and her family prepare as best as they can to keep everyone safe and hopefully come out on top and, which is enough to have even the most stout hearted person reeling but the emotional turbulence inflicted by this war is only a small portion of Jane’s turmoil as an unexpected person shows up at her doorstep is a most exciting fashion and has chaos unfolding in her personal world.

Faith Hunter’s fascinating world just keeps getting better, I never know what to expect and I definitely never get bored as I stay glued to the pages of this intriguing world and its wonderful characters.  The author makes it so easy to enjoy her world as she paints vivid images with every written world and infuses her world with unique elements and great dialogue that adds spice to each and every story. There was no way I could put Dark Queen down until I had read every last world which made dinner a bit late, but they will just have to get over it as I am sure it will happen again when the next Jane Yellowrock book comes out.

New Release Review! Ghost Tracker (Trackers #2) Jenna Kernan!
Ghost Tracker - Jenna Kernan

When wolf Skinwalker, Nick Chien, is attacked by ghosts, the Thunderbirds leave him at the mercy of an enemy healer, a Dreamwalker, with supernatural powers as dangerous as his own. Her duty as a Spirit Child is to kill him. But she instead determines to learn if his wild story of being attacked by ghosts is true.

While walking in his dreams, Native American Jessie Healy, sees the truth...the threat is real. Nagi, the Ruler of the Circle of Ghosts, is using his ghosts to take possession of humans and attack the living. She also discovers, that in his dreams, they can explore a passion forbidden between their people when awake. But upon waking, they face more than the discovery of their attraction. They must confront an enemy that could destroy them both.

Jenna Kernan’s Tracker series is a wonderful world full of intriguing mythology, fascinating characters and she brings it all to life with well written descriptions that makes it easy for the readers to become part of the story as it takes place.

Nick and Jessie are strong, captivating characters that easily draw readers in and then refuse to let go because they have lots of sizzling chemistry but due to cultural differences they try and fight that attraction which keeps a lot of tension and angst which makes the romance quite rocky and keeps readers wondering if this couple will reach their happily ever after moment.

The story starts off with a bang as the enemy targets Nick and then he finds himself injured on Jessie’s doorstep and the suspense and anticipation builds from there keeping readers on the edge of their seats with this fast paced plot.

The mythology mixed in with the romance and the author’s type of characters adds interest and a little something extra as it adds to readers knowledge and changes things up a bit. Skinwalkers have always fascinated me and this book really brought them to life and so I was quite enthralled with the story from the very beginning and even though I haven’t read the first one yet, I had no trouble catching on to the plot and the bad guy’s intentions, of course, now I will be adding the rest of the series to my TBR pile.

Ghost Tracker is the 2nd book in the Tracker series and was

previously released by Harlequin Nocturne as Ghost Stalker.

Ghost Tracker is available in ebook at:

Amazon    B&N

Review – Shade and the Skinwalkers by Marilyn Peake @marilynpeake
Shade and the Skinwalkers - Marilyn Peake

Shade and The Skinwalkers by Marilyn Peake is filled with so much goodness and I fell in love with the ghost whisperer, Shade.

Check out this gorgeous cover by Deranged Doctor Design.

Shade And The Skinwalkers (The Shade Series #2)

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

I love Marilyn Peake’s stories, so when I went to the mailbox and found Shade and The Skinwalkers, I could hardly wait to begin reading. I love young adult paranormal and supernatural stories and Marilyn never lets me down.

Shade’s first night in her new home in a trailer park in New Mexico, she meets Kai, who will become her new best friend. They both have special abilities and they will need them.

Shade is very familiar with ghosts…so what comes next?

Her other best friend Misty is still missing (from the first book, Shade) and she can’t let it go. Now, she has a new one mystery to solve, a serial killer who must be stopped.

Shapeshifters good. Skinwalkers bad. We have kidnapping, human trafficking, sex slavery, murder, ghosts, Native American culture, mysticism…so much going on that I was never left wanting for something else to happen, some new threat to raise its evil and ugly head.

We hop from fantasy to reality and back again.

I love flawed characters, struggling through life, trying to do the right thing. It is so much fun watching them grow into the people they are meant to be.

Shade has an awesome group of friends and a new bestie. I can hardly wait to see how that plays out, as they head off to college. The characters are amazing and lovable, and Shade’s mom…well don’t want to spoil anything…So I will be looking for more adventure in the next book of the series.

The Witchling Seer (The Skinwalkers' Witchling #3) by B. Kristin McMichael
The Witchling Seer (Skinwalkers Witchling Book 3) - B. Kristin McMichael

Kristin McMichael’s THE WITCHLING SEER takes place following book 2, THE WENDIGO WITCHLING.  Cassie Booth now has two mates, Nate and Jared, causing a volatile truce between the skinwalkers and wendigo.  There is ongoing conspiracy, while Cassie tries to find a solution for continued peace. This paranormal fantasy is suitable for young adults.

  1. Kristin McMichael continues doing a great job developing her characters. Cassie is still new to the supernatural world and learning as she goes on, especially where her visions are concerned. She and her very different mates used to be best friends as children but all that changed eight years prior when Jared was forced to turn to a wendigo and Cassie’s memory was stolen.  I respect Cassie’s drive and concern for others.  Despite Nate’s and Jared’s differences, they are both very protective of Cassie.  Jared is sweet and selfless.  Nate is strong and a good leader.

I liked the ties to B. Kristin McMichael’s other trilogies: Blue Eyes and Day Human.  While you can understand the Skinwalkers' Witchling series without reading those trilogies, I found that some of the incidences probably had a lot more meaning for me having read those books.  I love that Turner Winter once again makes an appearance in this series, in addition to, Arianna Grace, from the Blue Eyes Trilogy.  Ariana plays a significant role in the novel. I’m a huge fan of Devin and was happy he made an appearance.

I enjoyed the plot.  There is a lot of treachery, and I was never really sure where the story is going to go.   We find out some interesting things about Cassie’s parents.  There were unexpected twists. The story was fast-paced and kept me enthralled.  Some heartbreaking things happened.  The story had a great ending that felt well resolved.  I will look forward to Whitney’s story to be release in 2017.
