Review: Until We Become Something New
until we become something new - Spikedluv

The start of this was so promising, I was loving it. Derek was possessive and clearly in love. Stiles was oblivious and clearly in love. It was all so sweet and adorable and then it went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and... you get the idea. This fic is about twice as long as it should be and should have ended somewhere around the halfway mark because after that things just became repetitive and a bit pointless and I even forgot that Stiles was a fox and what the fucking hell was that with the elf? I mean seriously?

I'm a bit annoyed because it really was going so well and I plan on this one being my last Sterek fic for a little while and it sucks that I was just willing it to be over.

But it does deserve a cute gif...

Review: Every Step You Take
Every Step You Take - Nokomis Every Step You Take - Nokomis

Kind of fluffy and very funny. Full of Stiles snark. Like he is ON all the time but it made me laugh so it's all good.

This was a 3 star read all the way through but the ending deserves one shiny star all for itself. Made me do massive lol's.

The relationship development is kind of non existent but there is magic afoot so that can kind of explain away everything I guess.

Review: Misfire Continuation
Misfire Continuation - Unpossible Misfire Continuation - Unpossible

Relationships are hard.

Great followup to Misfire and it's not all doom and gloom, Issac creates a bit of fluff but Derek and Stiles have some stuff to work through. This was more angsty than I was expecting and I was disappointed in (but kind of understood) Derek. We all love a HEA and this was a HEA but points out that sometimes we need to work to get that HEA.

Review: Misfire
Misfire - Unpossible

"I love you," he says, and Derek's eyes flicker open.

"I love you so much and I'd do anything for you, you know that?" Stiles chokes out, and runs a finger down the curve of one perfect cheekbone.

Derek is blinking awake. "Stiles?" he says again, muzzily. "You okay?" He pushes upright, sheet pooling at his waist.

"Nope," Stiles says.

The one where Stiles does 'anything' in order to prevent Derek pain.

I cried a lot. Then got really frustrated with Stiles. Then cried some more. Fell madly in love with a relatively emotionally stable Derek and then cried some more. Loved Peter in this and there was no 'Fucking Scott' which I was happy and sad about.

I'm told this is a really fantastic Podfic. I plan to listen to it one day but I won't be able to listen in public because of the tears so no idea when that day will be.

The e e cummings poem also caused much, much love.

Review: Stand Fast in Your Enchantments
Stand Fast in Your Enchantments - Rahciach,DevilDoll

"I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm so sorry." Stiles said, watching a rivulet of blood run down Derek's back. "We're gonna get out of here, and no one is going to do anything like this to you again, I promise." He dropped a tentative kiss onto the top of Derek's head, then another when Derek whimpered and pushed closer. "I promise."

I loved this fic. Absolutely loved it.

For me it had a very distinct 'two act' feel to it. Derek and Stiles in captivity and Derek and Stiles back in the real world. What was incredibly interesting about that was that Derek communicated better when he couldn't actually speak and there was very much a feeling that things were easier for them while they were captured. When they were captured they had a common goal, a common enemy and only each other. With freedom came a whole host of outside influences and problems and it made for a really entertaining and sometimes heartbreaking read.

I really like DevilDoll's stuff, Won't Do Me No Good Washing in the River is one of my all time favourite fics and while this one is nowhere near as dark or heartbreaking just like Won't Do Me No Good this was wonderfully written and I thoroughly enjoyed it and just as Won't Do Me No Good was wonderfully illustrated (and that really helped convey the tone of that fic) Stand Fast is also fabulously illustrated by Rahciach.
