Everyone has probably heard about Swiss Family Robinson right (you know that family from Switzerland that made a home on an island). Well, what happens if zombies was the reason they landed on the deserted island in the first place?

The second book is about them making a home on the island - pretty much the first episode of a new Survivor season when they're making camp and exploring the island. Although in this book nothing else much happened because there wasn't enough zombies in this book at all. Quite frankly, I was a little bored.

Bill, the father irritated me with his "I'm the provider and hero" thing going on and then failing again when there were actual zombies to fight. Need more zombies!

With book four we go back and forth between island life and the lives of the Robinson's before they landed on the island. At first I was a bit confused when I started reading then bam I was in the middle of Liz's life before the island. I actually went back to make sure I didn't miss anything.

The Robinson's are celebrating Liz's birthday and have been rebuilding their home since the last zombie attack so everything has been pretty good. Then all of a sudden the family catches an illness and you have to wonder if it is the end for them or if there will be a cure. It goes to show you that you can never be too comfortable living on an island as anything could happen.  There wasn't really any zombies in this book, it was more just about the illness and their memories of their previous life. 

I am liking this short series and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an adventure. 

I do have a question and I am hoping that someone can clear this up for me. How do you get freshly baked bread on an island with no electricity or any wheat? I know that probably sounds crazy but it just bothers me as I don't have an answer to this and it is mentioned in the book about freshly baked bread.

All I can say is wow, this family has really pulled together in some tough times. Now in book two there wasn't many zombies that came into play, but in book three it isn't long until the Robinson's find themselves fighting for their lives. The boys have been training their animals which I find to be very cool, they have been living off the land and it has provided very well for them. Sheep, goats, ducks, medicine and even vegetables. Their lifestyle has been quite comfortable so when they spot a ship wreck on the shores they go out to see if there is anything worth saving. Well that ends up being more than they bargain for. Will they end up surviving?  There is plenty of action and adventure within the book that when you flip to the last page all you end up saying is this the end because you just have to find out what is going to happen next. 

I received this book to give an honest review. What can I say I love zombies, I love watching shows and movies to reading about them. Not sure what it is that attracts me to them but they are fun to read about. With this book there were not as many zombies as was in book one, this story was more of how the Robinson's are trying to adapt to living off the island they have been shipwrecked on. 

We see how the family comes together slowly but surely to help each other out. They all have a terrific skill that helps out. 

I loved the one part where Liz tells her husband when he is acting different and not himself (though we later learn why) that there is plenty of island. Meaning he can live on one side and her and boys can live where they are now. It felt like something I would say to my husband. 

Now you know this story is not going to be without zombies somewhere and they do show up but it isn't anything like it was on book one. I am sure that in book three there are going to be even more zombies and obstacles that this family is going to have to over come. 

If you enjoy zombie stories then get this series, I don't think you would be disappointed.

So I received this book via a newsletter from the author and figured you know what this has to be right up my alley since I am a lover of zombie books. Now I never got into the Swiss Family hype (if there ever was one) so I kind of went into this story just thinking about zombies. 

You have a family who has decided on heading to the Philippines to start a new life everything seems okay until the topic is brought up over a couple of beers about a virus that has been over seas. While Bob and the guys are discussing this virus they hear on the radio that it has spread all over. No where is safe. Now this gets them thinking that the ship may no longer be safe and they need to find the captain to tell him. Well we all know how this is going to turn out or do you? Being stuck on a ship with zombies doesn't sound like fun especially when you are surrounded by water. All I can say is I am ready to read the next book in this series as I want to know if the Robinson's will survive what will be their next adventure with the world being taken over by the living dead.

If you are looking for zombies, looking for a twist in an old classic, looking for some not too heavy blood and gore then pick up this book. I believe you won't be disappointed.
