Reading progress update: I've read 44%.
The Alchemists of Loom - Elise Kova

Finally getting back to reading this book after having to take a break from it, so I could read some books for a book tour I am doing this Friday.  Cvareh still is my favorite, and so is Flor. The plot is definitely interesting, and so trying to figure out the mystery of Ari, and why she acts the way she does towards Cvareh. So I can't wait to find out more about Ari's past.

Really exciting and already full of action and adventure. Favorite character has to be Cvareh (sorry if I spelled it wrong.) Followed by Florence. Even though I really like Ari as well!!!!! So far I feel this will be one of my favorite books that I read this year, will know for sure, on how the book ends.

Just started this one.
The Alchemists of Loom - Elise Kova

I just started this book, I am really hoping I like this one because I got picked to read and review the second book, for a book tour. I heard good things about this one, so I hope its something I will really enjoy.

Not far along because I am babysitting my niece, so reading when she's napping or isn't crappie due to teething.

giving up for now
The Alchemists of Loom - Elise Kova

just not doing it for me as a book.  reminds me a bit of Jupiter Ascending, which I totally enjoyed, but it's kind of flashy and over the top in a way that would translate horribly to the page.

also she's so fucking perfect.

THE ALCHEMISTS OF LOOM BY: ELISE KOVA
The Alchemists of Loom - Elise Kova

<!-- x-tinymce/html -->

The Alchemists of Loom was definitely a unique read. I appreciated the vast world building that Kova pulled off beautifully and I also found the characters to be very dynamic and intriguing. The only thing that threw me off at first was it wasn't exactly clear that the dragons were not actually huge flame breathing beasts, but really people...in a sense. It was confusing at first because you have a distinct picture in your head already of what a dragon should be and unfortunately it takes a bit to understand that the dragons in this story are a breed of their own and nothing like what you thought.

Once that little tidbit sinks in you end up wanting to know more about these dragons and the dangerous world you've been immersed in. Of course I was greedy to know more right away, but Kova hands out little nuggets of truth and clarity as you go so it takes awhile to put it all together. All in all I liked the story, even more so after the confusion was cleared up, and I have high hopes that the sequel will be very interesting!
