The Forest Savage - Claire Davis The Forest Savage - Claire Davis I knew men like all the characters in this story, up in Manchester. They might not have been gay but... it's uncanny. I remember a trans-guy I knew who died of AIDS because of what they did to him in prison and on the street, another who killed his partner out of jealousy... I'm having an existential crisis. I need to stop the words. Stop reading or writing for a while now.
But this, this blew me away. Thanks, Claire and Al.

And the title and cover are misleading.

 

I didn't especially dig the story and the MCs.

 

Not sure, what it was exactly, I simply didn't enjoy it very much.

I don't have words to review, to do justice to this book. Cal and Troy broke my heart as their pasts and their struggles were revealed. Two broken men who've been used and abused, but who find in each other exactly what they need.

This was totally not what I expected or had in mind when I submitted the prompt. I admit I was reluctant to read it. That being said, the story ripped me apart. It's hard to make me cry but this story did it. I loved it.
