sadly, I don't think this entry is going to measure up to Book One; not enough has happened after 400 pages. but there have been some great individual scenes and moments, and I think I just read the best, most intense chapter so far, with Aarin undergoing the unthinkable just to get some information from beyond the world he knows.
now ready to start pondering what I would read next--probably Verdict of Twelve, or The Taming of Carney Wilde, two very tempting Crime novels.
not a lot of action sequences, but it has gotten better and better as it has gone along; the various plot threads are all interesting...although Madelyne's 'fifty shades of grey" plight is not really my preference on subplots. the fact that she's in this fix with an ulterior motive at least makes it more than just kinky sex. meanwhile, the Iron Ship has stopped over at an ice-and-stone island, inhabited by folks who drive a hard bargain.
