Chances are he'll want something else...
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff,Felicia Bond

This book will have children on their toes with guessing what is next. After giving a mouse a cookie, he will want milk to drink with it. Then he will have to trim his hair, clean up, take and nap and then drink milk again. And what do you know he will want a cookie again to go along with his glass of milk. This book is a great read for kindergartners and first graders.

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie By Laura Numeroff
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff,Felicia Bond

This story is about a mouse who wants a cookie. As you continue to read the story, the mouse keeps asking for other things that all tie together. Continue reading this story to see how it all winds up if you ever decide to give a mouse a cookie. As a class, lets think of different sentences that can follow the line,"If you give a mouse a cookie," lets create our own story together.

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie Review
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff,Felicia Bond

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, by Laura Numeroff, is a great book to use for younger grades. This book is about how if you give a mouse a cookie, then he'll keep coming back and asking for things. I would use this book in my classroom when teaching children about making predictions. I would have students write about what they think would happen if the mouse was given another cookie. (Book Reading Level: AR 2.7)

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Review
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff,Felicia Bond

This is another one of my absolute favorites. It goes along with If You Give a Moose A Muffin! I love every one of those books. Kids enjoy the silly little story. I would use this as a sequencing story. The students would be able to retell the story by remembering what the mouse wanted next. This is the same kinda thing I would do with all of these similar books within a unit.

Mrs. Thomas' Favorite Books
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie - Laura Joffe Numeroff,Felicia Bond

A young boy explains that if you give a mouse a cookie, you may end up doing a ton of other things and just end up exhausted by the end of the day. Who would have thought giving a mouse a cookie could start such a tiring sequence of events?

I would use this in the classroom along with a cookie counting activity in which the students would add "chocolate chips" (using bingo markers) to circles (aka cookies). It would also make a great sequencing activity. And of course we would have to have cookies for snack!
