Michael Bryant hates people who claim a fake connection with the supernatural because his mom spent all their money on fake mediums in a vain attempt to contact his dead father. And as far as he’s concerned, that includes 99 percent of psychics. When he reads about Chelsea Caldwell’s supposed ghost sightings in the charming tourist town of Jenkins Cove, he books a room in her aunt’s B&B so he can debunk her fantastic story. But Chelsea’s not telling lies. A ghost really is trying to contact her—to get justice for hundreds of area murder victims. Against his will, Michael is drawn to Chelsea. Soon they are attacked by a mysterious watcher determined to stop their investigations. And because he’s fallen for Chelsea, Michael wrestles with the lies he’s told about his motives for coming to town. Worse, when Chelsea’s life is in danger, Michael discovers the only way to save her is to trust the words of a ghost.
Christmas Spirit is a fantastic story for the holidays, one where you can just curl up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot cocoa and get caught up in story full of romance and suspense.
Michael and Chelsea both are engaging characters that draw readers in with their holiday romance as both have to suspend their disbeliefs in order to push forward with their relationship. This keeps readers engrossed as they empathize with the characters while becoming caught up in the mysterious happenings that tests the couple’s beliefs.
The suspense builds as Chelsea and Michael try to figure out why someone is after them and what the ghosts are trying to tell them. This keeps the anticipation building as the reader tries to determine the outcome as well and I have to tell you that it was I didn’t see coming. The story is well written and the characters are developed which made it easy to feel as if I was part of the town and I shivered with delightful chills with each ghost visitation.
Rebecca York writes some delightful stories and this one is definitely one of them as she brought Jenkins Cove to life during a the holiday season and I can’t wait to visit Jenkins Cove again and see if I can uncover more of the mystery.

Peter Ayerst led a unique and varied career as a Royal Air Force (RAF) pilot. He joined the RAF in 1938 and was the recipient of a thorough, peacetime flight training program.
Shortly after the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Ayerst was posted to France with No. 73 Squadron, flying the Hawker Hurricane fighter. He saw extensive action against the Luftwaffe during the 'Phoney War' period (which lasted up to May 10, 1940, when Germany launched its Blitzkrieg against Western Europe), the Battle of France, the Dunkirk Evacuation, and the Battle of Britain.
Following the conclusion of the Battle of Britain, Ayerst was given flight instructor duties in the UK, which he carried out til he was posted to serve with a Hurricane squadron in North Africa in September 1942. He went on to fly combat missions over France in the aftermath of the D-Day landings, and finished the war flying bomber escort missions.
Ayerst was part of a rare breed of RAF fighter pilots who had seen action throughout the war. In peacetime, he became a test pilot and carried out administrative and command duties til he retired from the RAF on May 5, 1973. All in all, this is a good book for any aviation enthusiast.

A second chance romance, a house with secrets, and some interesting conversations with a coat rack! That's just the tip of the iceberg with this second book in the Spirit Chasers series.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, To Catch a Spirit, and Pulkinen proves once again just how talented she is with this one. We do get lots of Logan and Allison from the first book in To Stop a Shadow, but both books can easily be read as stand-alones.
Trent and Tina's story is a fantastic mix of romance, suspense, and the creepy supernatural. As Trent and Tina dance around the relationship issue, things get creepier and crazier in the house that Trent has inherited from his uncle.
To say too much would give spoilers and the building tension and suspense of this wonderfully written tale is a big part of what I enjoyed most about it. So, I'll just sum up with this thought - if you enjoy romance and/or the supernatural, I highly recommend To Stop a Shadow. The book is full of steamy romance, a creepy house, and friends you can count on, all rolled into one imaginative story that I couldn't put down.
