Reading progress update: I've read 47 out of 323 pages.
This Side of Home Hardcover February 3, 2015 - Ren?e Watson

No character development. Not a lot of world building. And Maya seems awfully young to be so invested in local businesses. When I was 16/17 I didn't pay attention to who owned what. I was just trying to survive high school.

Also, Kate is a horrid stereotype. EVERYONE in this is. And none are likable.

Skip.

I'm being treated for the flu. I was so hoping to not catch it this year but here I am. Tamiful, Gatorade and rest are my remedies.

This book has mixed reviews. I can see why. It's trying way too hard to be fancy.

They love like spring.

I'm not quite sure what that means.

I got this book from the library 2 summers ago for completing the summer reading program.

Not crazy about the storyline, but not a deal breaker
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (2015-) #40 - Brandon Montclare,Natacha Bustos

Not even worth knocking off half a star, because this is still fun.   I'm just more confused as to what's happening with Nightmare and the whole bad dream thing, which is just slightly frustrating.  The characters are nailed, the art is wonderful and seeing Doctor Strange, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur all together is wonderful.

quote 2019-03-12 06:31
Is she gone?” “Yup.” I gulp. “Good. Don’t worry, kid, I’ll be quick. And I’m only going to say this once, so you’d better listen carefully. Gracie told me she was giving you another chance, and I fully supported that decision.” Josie peers into the camera, her expression glittering with menace. “With that said, if you break my daughter’s heart, I will hop on the first plane out of here, show up at your door, and beat you to death with a pillowcase full of soap bars.”
