Alien Indiscretions is the ninth book in the Worlds of Kalquor series. I have read some of these before, but not all of them. I would recommend you read the series though, as previous characters and relationships are mentioned.

Crissy and Tasha are Jessica's cousins, and have made their way to Kalquor to start a new life, one where they can be with whomever they wish. Crissy takes an instant dislike to one of the councillors, but is more than happy to push them onto her twin. Of course, that doesn't happen, and Crissy and the Kalquorians need to figure a lot of things out whilst they still have the chance.

This is definitely a case of those that know, see a different person, because at first glance Crissy is uncouth, brash, and downright rude at times. However, those that know her, love her. And there is enough about her to catch the interest of two out of the three Kalquorians.

This story has a lot of backstory to it, with an overall story arc playing a BIG part of this story. For that reason, I would definitely recommend reading some of the others before this one. It was all well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. The pacing is smooth, and there are plenty of sexy scenes for your titillation.

If you have read any of these books before, then I can absolutely recommend it. If you haven't, then I still recommend it, but would suggest you start the series properly first.

To save their people and themselves, the three men may have to destroy the woman who would complete their clan.

To enjoy this book, you have to suspend you disbelief, a crazy lot.

If you can do that, you are in for a very sweet erotic Sciene Fiction Fiction Romance.

The heroine has grown up on conservative patriarchal Earth. She is almost 50 and is the sole woman on a battleship that has escape the destruction of Earth and the ending of the war.

She is tasked with feeding the Aliens Earth was a war with and of course, has a big crush on a clan of three males, who are of course wonderful.

The fact that the wooing and sex happens during a take over of the ship is just silly but I enjoyed this less BDSM more character driven entry into this series with older heroes and a kind heroine who is slowing deprogramming herself.

So, nice (if a burning hot sexy book can be nice. It Can)

All Iris Jenson wants is a safe place to raise her autistic six-year-old Thomas. She thinks she’s found it on Haven, an Earther colony located within the Kalquorian Empire’s borders. Making a fresh start under the watchful eyes of Earth’s former enemy has its challenges, but it also possesses opportunities to live free of fear, something Iris hasn’t had in a long time. Love is an added surprise when Haven’s governor Dramok Ospar and his clanmates Nobek Jol and Imdiko Rivek enter the young widow's life.

Trouble is brewing on Haven Colony, however. Insurgent Earthers want to free themselves of Kalquor’s influence, and Kalquor itself is on the brink of a revolt, led by the shadowy figure known only as the Basma. Then a violent ghost from Iris’ past reappears and threatens to snatch Thomas from those who love him. Ospar’s clan races against time to save Haven from a bloody rebellion and Thomas from the grasp of a monster.

Review

With this series, the plot arc for the whole series often interferes with what are really tender (albeit erotic) love stories.

If the book was more nuanced about the villains and the cultural issues and spent more time on the romance and the cultural world building, I would likely adore this series.

I tend to like it.

The heroine has been abused and is raising her son with autism on a colony world sponsored by the Aliens Earth was at war with just a few years ago.

All the parts with the begining of education and therapy for her son and the falling in love with the child for the heroes of this book are wonderful.

The falling in love with the heroine is nice as well. Especially the parts with the clergy hero. Well, the warrior hero is pretty sweet too.

Why when these men are bisexual don't we get sexy times with each other? Sad about that in terms of really looking at a bisexual (at least for the males) poly culture.

All the other stuff is a lot of drama and I get a little sick of the zealotry and and hate and wish the series would settle into the two culture assimilating instead of the continued clash.

So, I will keep reading and enjoying and being annoyed at the same time.
