First time ever reading a manga.
Death Note, Vol. 1: Boredom - Tsugumi Ohba,Takeshi Obata

So this is the first time I have ever read a manga. I am not really sure what to say about it, just because I don't have other examples of other manga's to compare it to. I did enjoy it and I liked that it was such a quick read. I am not sure about how I feel in regards to what the main character is doing. I can understand why he thinks he's doing the right thing. But how is he any better than them, if his doing what he is doing. And his putting someone important into a lot of trouble because of this.

I did love the idea of the book, with killing someone by just writing that person's name on the paper. I know there are rules or steps that need to be taken for it to work.

I will be most definitely getting other manga's and later on getting another book from this series. It was still a really interesting and enjoyable first experience of reading the manga. Especially since it's totally different in the way, you need to read the story. And at times it was confusing but hopefully I will get use to it as I get more experience.

Moritaka is learning that being a full time manga artist and attending high school is tough. And he and Miho actually had conversations that were more than 4 words long. In PERSON. Wow - what a development.

Bakuman Volume 05

Oh noes! If they weren't under enough pressure, now the guys have to deal with a new editor on the eve of the debut of their new Jump series. Ugh! This guy seems a little flaky, and not as knowledgeable as Hattori (who I really, really liked!).

This was a solid entry into the series. Moritaka and Akito are learning that getting their own weekly series isn't a piece of cake. There is the pressure of deadlines, editor meetings, finding assistants, and staying in the top of the rankings, all while trying to attend high school! I was not committed to Bakuman at first, but I like it now.

Bakuman。, Vol. 4: Phone Call and The Nig... Bakuman。, Vol. 4: Phone Call and The Night Before - Tsugumi Ohba 4 stars

This was really good. The awkward interactions between Moritaka and Miho didn't even bother me as much. The lead up to the Gold Future Cup was interesting, and the art is spectacular. Not happy that Kaya gave up her dream of writing cell phone serials to make dinner for the boys, but what do you expect from a boys manga? Still, ugh.
