Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me #3)
Ignite Me - Tahereh Mafi

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

OMG MY FANGIRL IS DEAD. I AM DEAD. I really enjoyed this book guys! :D

Like, um, Juliette? Did I miss another book in between Unravel Me and Ignite Me or something?! Because JULIETTE. GIRL. WHAT HAPPENED?! I mean, of course I loved her in this book. But I swear, such beautiful transformation!

“‘This isn't about Adam or Warner,’ I tell him, ‘This is about me and what I want. This is about me finally understanding where I want to be in ten years. Because I'm going to be alive, Kenji. I will be alive in ten years, and I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be strong. And I don't need anyone to tell me that anymore. I am enough, and I always will be.’”

YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS GURL.

Of course my husband, Warner was also in this book. His presence made it so much more better! I love everything about Warner. Although I thought he was going to be a great villain, his transformation was also beautiful. And for those people who ask why I like Warner?

“‘Please," he says. ‘I'm begging you to stop.’

I still.

‘I can't stomach your pain,’ he says. ‘I can feel it so strongly and it's making me crazy- please,’ he says to me. ‘Don't be sad. Or hurt. Or guilty. You've done nothing wrong.’

‘I'm sorry-’

‘Don't be sorry, either,’ he says. ‘God, the only reason I'm not going to kill Kent for this is because I know it would only upset you more.’”

You can read more in this book if you want my 125 782 947 498 more reasons!

KENJI. KENJI DESERVES A WHOLE SECTION OF THIS REVIEW. HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE SECTIONS:

“‘Are you out of your goddamn mind? You think we can take on two hundred soldiers? I know I am an extremely attractive man, J, but I am not Bruce Lee.’

‘Who’s Bruce Lee?’

‘Who’s Bruce Lee?’ Kenji asks, horrified. ‘Oh my God. We can’t even be friends anymore.’

‘Why? Was he a friend of yours?’

‘You know what,’ he says, ‘just stop. Just—I can’t even talk to you right now.’”

“‘I am going to MURDER YOU—’

‘No,’he says, pointing at me as he shifts backward again. ‘Bad Juliette. You don’t like to kill people, remember? You’re against that, remember? You like to talk about feelings and rainbows—’”

Obviously, the whole battle with Anderson went down. I felt like we didn’t get enough of him in this book. But, in a way, I guess the ending was good. I just feel like there could’ve been a little more . . . hm, whatever. I am happy and currently hungover from this book. Please send some help!

Overall, Ignite Me is WORTH MUCH MORE than reading Shatter Me and Unravel Me. This book had the best character development, great side characters, and although the world is interesting, THE ONLY THING YOU END UP REALLY CARING ABOUT ARE THE CHARACTERS. I just really wish we got a teensy bit more in the ending!

Hope you have a great day guys, and remember how much I am happy with this book BECAUSE:

Because this.

This is everything.

*Note: if any of you are wondering why a certain person in this book named Adam Kent is not mentioned, then it is because he does not exist. Nope, not for me. I have never even heard of a person named Adam Kent.

Maybe Baby - Lani Diane Rich This is a very nice easy read - something light and cute to fill in the time. I think Nick and Dana have good chemistry, and I always love the idea of getting back to the one "who got away". Secondary characters, including Dana's gutsy mother Babs, and the wise-crack bird thief Finn brings more merriment to the story. Goodreads won't let me do 3.5 rating because that's what I'll give to this :)
