PINES BY BLAKE CROUCH
Pines - Blake Crouch

I think I figured out why Crouch books suck you in so effectively. You always kinda hit the ground running. There's immediately urgency and mystery and it keeps you on that edge, with the stakes raising and game fields changing right up till the very end. I read this all in one night. It grabbed me from the very beginning and I could not put it down until I finished. Looking forward to book 2.

Wayward Pines: El paraíso
Wayward Pines: El paraíso - Aleix Montoto,Blake Crouch I started this in Spanish as an ebook, then switched to the english in paperback because I realized that I didn't read on my computer often enough to finish the Spanish book before it got returned. Too bad, because this was the perfect reading level for my atrophied language skills. It also somehow made the book more suspenseful in Spanish. It's a fun premise, and Crouch executes the tension well in this first volume.

Ethan, Run!
Wayward (The Wayward Pines Series, Book Two) - Blake Crouch

It's been a long, long time since I've loved hating a character as much as I hate Pam. Kudos for writing a totally dislikable being. Overall I think this was a "just right" follow-up to Pines and a compelling setup for the last installment in this trilogy The Last Town. Ethan is still just trying to have his family safe, do the right thing, and survive all at the same time. There are times I don't like his wife because I want her to be stronger and tougher, less of a stereotypical girl about things. Blake Crouch, in my opinion, is exceptional at creating a strong sense of place and his descriptive skills are spot-on always striking a complete mood. I was happy with the flashbacks. They were cohesively worked into the story without disruption.

The Last Town Blake Crouch (wayward pines 3)
The Last Town - Blake Crouch

Whew! I honestly feel I've been on a bit of a journey with agent Ethan Burke and the residents of Wayward pine's I felt sadness while reading this book as I know for now it's the last one in the series until  the author decides to write another one if he does.

I feel like I've been on a roller ride and this book didn't disappoint with its Gripping plot. I felt total anger while reading this. For two of the main chars. Humans can be so selfish at times. always caring about what matters at them and never What matters to other's doing what they think is right when it might actually not be the case at all.

Without giving the plot away, that's what angered me in this book. I feel sad now lost almost as I really want to find out what is going to happen. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in this amazing trilogy.

P.s Please excuse the spellings i'm still hungover from the weekend :p
