Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles)
Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles) - Gena Showalter 3.75 stars

My daughter loved this book so I had to check it out. What an interesting take on the whole zombie idea. I did enjoy the story, but I think I’ve been reading a little too much YA lately because it didn’t keep my interest as much as I was expecting. I did enjoy it enough that I plan to check out the next book at some point.

A Mad Zombie Party by Gena Showalter
A Mad Zombie Party - Gena Showalter

Ok, so we thought it was all over at the end of the trilogy - and it could have been. But I love these guys so much that I jumped on book four when I realized Showalter had kept writing. The thing that stands out the most is that she manages to re-open the whole zombie apocalypse with yet another new twist - and wrap it all up in just one more book. But, I hope there is still more as she leaves some things hovering on the horizon that I'd really like to hear more about.

Zombies are back, but they aren't the same breed of zombie the slayers are used to slaying. They've been altered somehow and a new game plan is needed pronto. But the problem with that is is Milla - something funky has happened to the girl and now she's got all these wonky powers that are causing a bit of chaos and catastrophe.

This is a romance! A full blown HEA type of romance set in a horror setting, and it was brilliant. There's an acceptance of the past and the moving forward of the future that was woven into every word. Now I just need some more zombie craziness - I want more of them!!!

*This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

The Queen of Zombie Hearts
The Queen of Zombie Hearts - Gena Showalter

OMG!!! I love this series more and more with every book. Alice and the slayers are ready for war. This isn't just another battle - only one will come out on top and both side will suffer along the way. This is really a non-stop action packed story that never calms down until it's all over.

Zombies and Anima are back with a vengeance and some really imaginative tactics. Alice gets an unexpected blast from her past that really causes some problems - but may be the only way to solve the even bigger problems. Cole and Alice will have to face another landmine in their relationship that threatens to tear them apart.

The snarky comments and attitudes are still present and they may be even bigger than they were before as we introduce a whole new slayer crew to stir up the existing dynamics.

Warning: You just may cry - it's an emotional roller coaster that never stops. Also, this is a trilogy. Book three wraps up the story very well - but apparently others like myself just wanted more, so there is a fourth. But if you were looking forward to a good ending of the series - it does happen.

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles)
Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles) - Gena Showalter I didn't know what to expect from this book. I thought that there was definitely going to be a connection between Alice in Wonderland in Alice in Zombieland. I was right, however I thought there was going to be a more obvious connection. This did not bother me though. I saw all of the connections that Gena Showalter made. I found the characters to be relatable as well. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Not convinced. The title and cover were definitely misleading, and I didn't find here the "Wonderland retelling" it had led me to expect (it could've been a great retelling, I'm sure).

The particular take on the zombies here... Why not. The rest... didn't work for me, probably because it involved a lot of clichés I'm very peculiar about.
* Insta-love.
* Ain-t-telling-you-nothing-itis. There was a point where if Cole had once more told Alice "You tell me" as an answer to her questions, I'd probably have stopped reading. You know what, characters? Answer the damn questions, because the readers want to know.
* Alpha-male giving orders and demanding that the girl obeys without questioning has gotten old last century. Girl claiming she won't jump at his every commande while still doing it is even worse.
* Villains who could've done so much more, but were more an unprepared eyesore than anything else. I'm not talking of the zombies here.

Too bad, because if those things hadn't been here, I'd probably have felt more invested, and would have wanted to borrow the second book
