The Mitten Board Book Edition - Jan Brett

If I was to use this in a classroom setting it would be during a time period where we are studying different cultures. This happens to be a Ukrainian folktale and this could one of many we will use. The grade level I would do this for is K-4.

Where The Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak

I would use this book in a whole group setting that I, the teacher, will read to the entire class. I will test/assess the student knowledge of frequently use words and phrases. I would use this book in the grades K-2. The words are complex enough for that age and also it causes those student to think about what those words might mean.

Time Flies - Eric Rohmann

I would use this book in a history lesson in grade 3-6. This book is only pictures, but it teaches students to make inferences as to what might happen throughout the story. This story also includes dinosaurs and predicts what they might have been like in their time.

First Day Jitters - Julie Danneberg,Judy Love

I would use this in grade K-6 because it is so necessary for kids to feel like it is normal to be nervous for the first day class. This bool also allows those students who are not nervous understand where the "new" kids or the kids who are very shy feel. This would be something I would read on the first day of school

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs! - John A. Scieszka

This book is about the wolf's side of the story of the Three Little Pigs. I would use this in the classroom for K-6 and teach a lesson on different points of view.
