She Loves Me, He Loves Me Not by Zeenat Mahal
She Loves Me, He Loves Me Not - Zeenat Mahal
This book got me hooked me from the beginning, I loved all the characters but especially the two main characters Fardeen and Zoella and I loved the beauty and the beast theme.
I felt that Fardeen after the accident that disfigured him had changed him a lot and I liked Zoella and how strong she was despite everything that was happening between her and Fardeen.
I liked the marriage of convenience theme and how there was a bit of angst and betrayal here and there and I enjoyed reading from both their points of views.

Soap opera in Pakistan.
She Loves Me, He Loves Me Not - Zeenat Mahal

I was contacted by the publisher, to read and review this book.

Although I'm not a great fan of Romance, I was attracted by the fact that the book was based in Pakistan and 'International Reads' are my favoured genre

It started well and I was fascinated by the interaction between the two families and the relative freedom there appeared to be. Then everything changed - two characters marry under duress and the ending suddenly became very predictable.

Since childhood, Zoella has worshiped her best friend's brother from afar. He doesn't even notice her, preparing to marry the awful, spoiled, Neha. Then disaster strikes and he becomes severely disfigured, his marriage plans collapse and Zoella's luck changes.

What really brought the book down, in my opinion, was the constant bickering between the married couple; for pages and pages and pages. I finished the book out of respect for the author, but unfortunately nothing changes until right at the end, when, out of the blue, it's 'happily ever after'.

Zeenat Mahal has written novellas in the past and that is what this should have been. Cut out all the arguing and jump to the resolution, that could have raised my star rating by one, if not two, stars.

The Accidental Fiancee
The Accidental Fiancee - Zeenat Mahal I stumbled upon this book at the Indireads website by pure accident. I have read and enjoyed previous works of Ms Mahal a lot. So when I saw this book was for free, I decided to go ahead and buy it. It turned out to be a wise decision. I enjoyed it a lot. When reading, the story never seemed as short as it was in reality. Zeenat Mahal writes in such a way that captivates the readers completely. Even for a story as short as The Accidental Fiancee, the readers are thoroughly ensnared. An endearing story of two arch enemies getting accidentally engaged together and then falling for each other and remaining engaged for real. The MCs were appealing and adorable, although I would have liked to know the heroine's POV a little more. That is my only complaint that the heroine's POV was not given as much space as the hero's POV. I will not be writing any more as that will give away the story. This book will hardly take more than a few minutes of you time. So I recommend everyone to take 10-15 minutes out of their time and read it and enjoy your day.

Haveli
Haveli - Zeenat Mahal A sweet and charming novella for everyone to enjoy!

As much as I was intrigued by the setting(Pakistan in the '70s), I was also expecting a more conservative and serious story but was I ever so gladly delighted to be stand corrected!

The protagonist is a strong-willed young girl of 20,Chandni or C as likes to call herself. C is stunning, sarcastic and also sensitive. She appears headstrong, impulsive and bratty but is also sweet, caring and vulnerable along with being extremely well read and educated. C is a rebel and larger than life.
C is not afraid to go after the man of her dreams or to not accept her overpowering grandma's decision to marry the man she chooses for her granddaughter.C yearns for her absent father's love and yet is not afraid to thwart his plans when she learns his ulterior motives.

Alpha Male is the perfect antidote for C. His dark good looks, handsome face, cocky attitude and roguish charms endear him to not only Chandni but us too.
He is not just good-looking, wealthy, cocky and smart but also sweet and caring and totally infatuated with C.

The sexy sparring between them was highly entertaining. Together they made a very adorable couple.
The couple obviously had a happy ending but I would have wanted to know the father's reaction when his schemes and plots are derailed.

All in all, a very enjoyable and hilarious story!

My thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this story for sharing an honest review
