★★★★The Drawing of Three by Stephen King (The Dark Tower Series book 2)The Drawing of Three is the second book in the Dark Tower Seres by Stephen King. After 10 years of sleep, cause by "the Man in Black," Rolland wakes up on Western Sea's beach. He gets attacked by a poisonous lobstrosity. He makes...
Rating: 3 of 5 Well, The Drawing of the Three offered more action than Book One in the Dark Tower series, but not much else. Roland was developed a bit more despite being injured most of the book; I really do admire his grit. As for Eddie and Odetta, meh. Not really a big fan of either at this poi...
You know, when I first read this book, I didn't like it much. It came between two books which were important points in my development as a lover of reading and where they both had things which grabbed me, this one didn't. It was a solid story, but not one I revisited as often as "The Gunslinger" or ...
I'm really torn on this book. While it was enjoyable enough for me to want to continue with the series, I can't say I actually enjoyed the book very much. Roland I love; his history and his world's story I can't wait to read. Eddie and Odetta not so much; honestly, I plodded through their stories...
Possibly my favorite of the Dark Tower books, but I rated it down a star because the Odetta Holmes/Detta Walker story line now strikes me as excessively racist, sexist, and misogynistic. More like some of King's other books, and sort of jarring and out of place in the marvelous storytelling that is ...
The first and last thirds of this book were let down a fair bit by the middle third I'm afraid. Started off very well, moving along quite nicely but then just seemed to almost come to a.standstill for what seemed like forever. Apart from this the story itself didn't really seem to unfold much but si...
The Drawing of the Three is the second book of Stephen King’s magnum opus The Dark Tower. So far it hasn’t been bad, but I have to admit that I’m not fully a believer yet. It’s a good story, taking up where we left off in The Gunslinger with Roland on the beach after having confronted the Man in Bla...
I will never stop loving Stephen King! This second volume of the "Dark Tower" series was amazing! In this volume, it is presented how Roland wakes up on a beach and is attacked by some mysterious creatures that come out of the sea at dawn. After escaping, he starts walking down the beach, finding the...
It was a fine story, but I really think 150 pages would have been sufficient to cover it. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, but the writing was pretty darn mediocre.
