This is a book I was required to read in my sophomore literature class in high school. It's one of the first books in school where we read something that was not Anglo Saxon background. I've obviously read many books which were of Asian culture due to my background, but never for a school project....
I read this as a young teenager and remember being fascinated with the difference in cultures. For me, at that age, to have been enamored of this story is a testimony to the strength of the writing and the tale. It's a must read.
