Book one in a 5 book series.England. Winter 1155. Cathryn and Greneforde are as one; to possess the woman is to possess the land. William, a knight under King Henry, has been gifted Greneforde Tower as a reward for his service to the king. Greneforde, and Cathryn, are now William's. They marry within the hour of his arrival, and Cathryn is outwardly obedient to the combined wills of God, King, and husband. But is she truly so? William thinks not. He begins to believe that some treachery is brewing in his beautiful wife's heart, that she plans to resist consummating their marriage, thereby nullifying it and denying him Greneforde, the home he has fought for through long years. He is determined that Cathryn will deny him nothing; not her land, and not her body.

2.0 The Horse and HIs Boy
My reread of The Horse and His Boy was greatly improved by skimming all the boring bits (which ended up being most of the book for me). I'm not here for the Calormenes even though Aravis is my favorite character in the book.

4.0 The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis (Physical & Audio Book)
I did like the book, a lot but it had a lot more boring moments for me, but like The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, overall, I enjoyed the stories but The Magicians Nephew is still my favorite thus far. And of course, I love Aslan! I think he will always be my favorite. The thing about this one tho...

I feel really guilty about loving this book as much as I do. I loved it as a kid and I love it now, and there is just so much wrong with it. The xenophobia is positively racist -- by page 5, we're already hearing the first of many references to the fact that the residents of Narnia are considered by...
