Novels of the Tufa - Book 1 This book was a guts buy for me when it was on sale a few weeks ago. I picked it and books 2 and 3 up at the same time just because the blurbs sounded good! And different. We're basically talking musical fae folk in the Appalachian mountains. The Tuatha Dé Dannan of Ir...

I liked this book much more than Bledsoe’s Eddie LaCrosse series. It was written better, and its story was deeper and more mature. The protagonist, a twenty-year-old soldier of the US army Bronwyn, was injured in Iraq. She has returned home to recuperate, but her homecoming is not at all restful. In...

This book was engrossing, and despite the hints of magic woven throughout, I never guessed the eventual origins.

This wasn't what I'd expected; I think I expected less romance and more magic. Also, despite the title, I still don't really know what the hum or the shiver is. Added to that was the strange choice of readers; a man and a woman. Emily Janice Card read Bronwyn's chapters and Stefan Rudnicki read all ...

It was pretty good. Considering that it's about fairies, I really liked it. Usually, as soon as fairies are mentioned, things get really corny, but this was good.

Despite the title, which is awesome, if I had come across this book on my own, I can say with complete certainty that I wouldn't have given it a second glance. The book description doesn't tell very much about what the book is about, and honestly it sounds boring. But this book was selected for a gr...

Disclaimer: This review contains some spoilers.I absolutely love it when a book is different enough that I can't quite decide what genre it fits into. The Hum and the Shiver, which I read 70% for the cool title and 30% for the cover because I'm shallow they were both so intriguing, is closest to urb...

Eh. Forced myself to finish this last night, which is a big reason for only 2 stars. This whole book was very slow buildup and then last 10 minutes of reading, all the action of the book happens (and is pretty anti-climactic, IMO.) Didn't really care what happened to the characters, lots of 'tell' r...
