This was my least favorite so far; it took me a while to really get hooked. And I still loved it. Erin who got me started on Moriarty has loaned me a Paula Hawkins, so I'm going to loan her a Carol Goodman. And walking out of my regular Tuesday meeting I got to talk books again with another coworker...

‘The Hypnotist’s Love Story’ this title looked too intriguing to me on top of that it was written by Liane, that was reason enough for me to pick up this book. Ellen a professional hypnotherapist was longing for that perfect someone in her life. When she eventually found her Mr Right in Patrick, she...

The title of this novel is deceiving. The hypnotist’s love story comprises only half of the book, and not the most memorable half, but I’m getting ahead of myself. The protagonist, thirty-five-year-old Ellen, is a licensed hypnotherapist in Sydney, Australia. Despite the skeptics’ criticism of her c...

I read this immediately after The Husband's Secret and What Alice Forgot, 2 other titles by this author which I loved. The Hypnotist's Love Story, however, I decidedly did not love. I didn't love the hypnotist (Ellen O'Something, the main character), I didn't love her boyfriend Patrick, and I didn...

This book is surprisedly flat with such an intriguing premise. For a novel set in Sydney, it is almost bland with no sense of urgency or setting and the resolution rang false.Even within the genre of chick flick or romance-thriller, the author makes no attempt to liven up the plot so it plods along....

Really liked this book, the characthers developed well, patrick is lovely, Ellen bit crazy at times but amusing, I have to admit still don't get saskia - but she was part of the story. It was nice to read a book about so called normal people, so many seem to be about über rich people etc etc.I wou...

“The Hypnotist’s Love Story” by Liane Moriarty is proof positive that an author’s writing keeps getting better and better as she writes more and more books. Moriarty’s debut novel was “What Alice Forgot,” a charming story about a thirty-something woman who forgets everything that happened in the las...

If you're looking for a little bit of everything then you've come to the right place with this book. I knew that I had to read a book that has not only stalking but also hypnotherapy too. While the book did have some small suspenseful moments (i.e. Saskia's stalking of Patrick), the message that mos...
