There was literally no point to this book. No new information was introduced and it was just a repeat of all the bs from the last two books. I cannot believe that I had to wait 10 years for this. PS Jondalar is one of the worst characters ever written.
Titles are so hard to come up with...
I read the first 200 pages and skipped to the end. Maybe I'll give it another go someday, but it was just too repetitive.

First of all, I must say that this book is very different from the rest of the series. The first five books chronicle Ayla (and eventually Jondalar's) journey from the Clan of the Cave Bear to the Zelandonii. The story revolves around Ayla and Jondalar's trials and tribulations on this journey acr...

This is, I think, the last book in this series. I'm kind of disappointed in it. It was a good book, don't misunderstand, but I feel kind of cheated. There were a lot of large time skips. Four years and then two years. I think the whole Gift of Knowledge is going to be a big problem for everyone. I d...

I've been a devoted fan of this series since the beginning, although COTCB was not my favorite. This sixth book has Ayla settling into her extended family and her new vocation as a zelandoni. The amount of repetition did not bother me as much as it did some readers, although i did skip the Mother's ...

I have a question. WHERE WERE THE EDITORS?A book for -- and forgive me people -- for alzheimers patients, or rather for people with severe memory diseases or brain-memory-damage. Srly, she is back, and, and back, and, yes, back again recounting things not only for previou books, but repeated herself ...

Big thanks to all the Good Reads and Amazon reviewers who have already given this one a big THUMBS DOWN. You've given me permission to stop wasting my time hoping it will get better. I'm always afraid of being the one to burst everyone's expectation bubble without putting in a fair effort. No proble...

Have to admit I'm not reading this right now. Cannot get invested in it. Will read it before year is out.

This is such a hard review for me to write. I've spent the last 10 years waiting to get my hands on this book and I spent a good chunk of February & March re-reading the first 5 books (that's approx 4,000 pages of the tiniest writing you can imagine!) so you can probably guess how much I wanted to ...

The assumption is that anyone even remotely interested in this novel has read at least one or two of the Earth's Children series, if not all five previous novels. If you have not read them, please be warned that spoilers may abound. The Land of Painted Caves remains true to Ms. Auel's vision, followi...
