This was a good book, but unfortunately it didn't grab me quite as much as I had hoped it would. I thought that the first half was a bit draggy in places, with lots of description and really long paragraphs. Interesting, and very readable. I only borrowed this from the library because the Bernard Cornwell I really wanted (Excalibur) was out. I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually! The historical side of the story feels very authentic - BC clearly knows what he's writing about, and the narrative is rich...
Titles are so hard to come up with...
i LOVE historical fiction, and this is right up there on my favorites list - it was great, and i can't wait to read the next book in the series!
