This reminded me of the Hunger Games except it takes place in a maze that’s surrounded by a stone wall. Hunger Games is exponentially better than The Maze Runner. I was drawn to this novel due to the popularity and because I can’t watch the movie until I read the book.I liked The Maze Runner, but I ...
The only reason I picked up the Maze Runner was because I had heard about the movie Scorch Trials coming out! So, I thought I’d read the series. I’m more of a book person and not the movie type. I felt like the book was for me. I had read the Hunger Games and apparently it was ‘ a must read for The...
The Maze Runner by James Dash is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. The story starts out the main character Thomas, showing up to new land without any of his memories. He doesn’t remember who he is, or how he got to this place, but the boys that surround him say this happens once a mont...
Rating 3 out of 5 stars. I can't believe I started reading this book on July 7 and I BARELY now got done with it (Sept 6) *faints* I had zero desire to open this book up and instead I've been racking up my points on Solitaire LOL Anyhoo, I saw the movie first - which prompted me to read the books ...
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!! 11/8 - I've got no idea what's going on here. I can't imagine what might have happened to end up with a world where these boys are sent to The Glade, what appears to be a fabricated microcosm in the middle of a maze, with monstrous creatures guarding the gates of the compound. Al...
If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human. When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade.Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever...
Boring premise , though I was surprised it was not in first-person narrative. That did not help it as it was terribly written (show don't tell) and I get the feeling the plot, whilst quick, won't move along at a non-speed kind of pace. Not engaging, generic YA-twaddle.
So, this book was certainly one I’d been expecting a lot of. I guess I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes us that much because I haven’t read an honestly good book in a really long time. This reading slump is killing me! No wonder writing reviews feels so difficult right now—it’s just this seemingly end...
BLUF: Skip this series. If you do choose to read this story, don’t expect it to be anything like the Hunger Games.Pros- Good idea for a storyCons- Poor execution of the story- Characters have no depth- Characters use works like “shuck” in place of f… (I’m not a fan of slang as is)- Characters sudden...
