I don't usually like short stories but this one was a great anthology. My favourites were The Night Market and The Coat of Stars there were a few hit and misses but most of them were really good.

"The Coldest Girl in Coldtown"This was the story that made me pick up the book, and it's still amazingly memorable. Of course it's very dark too, and talks about the length people will go for love and/or betrayal, but that's just classic Holly Black, eh? A vampire story for people who are amazed and...

The Poison Eaters is a collection of short stories, most of which have been published in various anthologies over the years. They are all supernatural in nature, though the subjects vary wildly, from faeries to werewolves to normal human beings with extraordinary abilities. I'm a fan of short story ...

I really enjoyed this anthology. I'm not going to get into each story, but as a whole the book was dark and fun. Not all of these stories have a happy ending, but all are deliciously twisted. Some stories stood out a bit more than others but as a whole they all seem to fit together. Not as entwining...

Basically, what goes around comes around. I loved that each story is unique. There were fairies, unicorns, etc. So much goodness.I am hoping...

Holly Black writes cities that I'd be both thrilled and terrified to find myself in.Stories I liked:"The Coldest Girl in Cold Town." A teenage girl tries to stay drunk to keep herself human, but then one of her old friends finds her and begs for her help. "A Reversal of Fortune." Nikki is a poor ...

This collection of short stories is a testimonial to the prowess of Holly Black's writing. I have been wanting to read her work for a long time, but took my time getting to it. When I saw The Poison Eaters, I was intrigued by the thought that I could devour a short story on the subway to and from ...
