We’re tracking a Dragon and it’s only a matter of time before we corner it and there’s nothing more dangerous than a cornered animal.” Harion looks at me and gives me a stern scowl. Luntin has his sword unsheathed and is letting it lead his way through the tunnel. I begin thinking how wrong it is for us to be hunting and killing these things. They were only doing what anyone would do when their home and loved ones were being threatened. From the look of the Labryinth of mining tunnels, it’s only a matter of time before the mountain comes down. I would estimate maybe a month or two more of mining and that would be the end of that. The skyline would be drastically altered if that were to happen. There’s scuffling up ahead and I motion that we should go quietly. This way we can hopefully sneak up on the Silver Dragon and take it before it has a chance to offer any resistance. I came into another cavern and found the Dragon with its back to us and drinking water out of a fountain. A waterfall fell from a hole in the ceiling, but that’s not all that was in here. For as far as the eye could see, gold shimmered in the light overhead and filled the cavern in brilliant gold light. Harion started to fill his pockets with gold pebbles. That slight noise gave the Dragon an early warning that we were there. He turned so fast that we barely had time to move, let alone strike. Lutrin attacked trying to pierce the soft underbelly of the beast. The strike was unsuccessful, but that didn’t stop Reneg and myself from doing the same thing. The Dragon doesn’t flinch and takes the stabs that barely make a mark. Lutrin again comes forward and a ball of flame engulfs where he stands. I am horrified that another one of my brothers has fallen, but a figure can be seen pushing forward under the flame. I see the shield that Lutrin holds and he waits until the Dragon takes a breath and then drops the shield and runs headlong with his sword brandished and ready for attack. He comes at him and throws the sword into the dragon’s mouth. Blood comes out of his mouth and begins spraying all over Luntin. The dragon’s head dips to the ground and Lutrin is there to land the fatal blow to its throat. Reneg and I watch as the Dragon’s head hits the ground and is dead. Reading Time: 20 mins.
