5.0 The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating
I learned so many things about snails, and empathized with Bailey's debilitating illness. I've never experienced anything like it, but she describes it very well. This is a short book but masterfully put together, combining memoir with biology. I want to hold it close to my heart forever.

I never would have imagined a book chronicling a year in the life of a woodland snail would be so fascinating. This is a very "quiet," contemplative memoir, a fascinating study and I enjoyed every minute spent reading this book.
