This was an abridged audiobook--which I did not actually even realize until I got to the end credits, and "abridged by" came up. Had I realized this was abridged, I would not have downloaded it from my library's e-collection. This was... Okay. I don't feel as though I gained much insight into s...

Oh boy, by the time I trudged through this I was no longer fascinated by Ted Bundy, I just hated him, and I hated reading about Ann Rule's feelings.I really liked the part where he thought he was smart enough to represent himself and then got the death penalty though.

A friend of mine raved about this book. While I am not as awestruck as she is (when I told her I was reading it I swear she got moist in the eyes). I did enloy this book but at times I found myself annoyed by the writing style. This book simply put is a mediocre author with great knowledge and insid...

Ever since I learned that there was such a thing as a true crime novel I have been interested in them. I have a strange relationship with true crime books and books about serial killers. I make myself read them and, because they scare the shit out of me, I don't read too many. They scare me more tha...

Ann Rule is the James Patterson of True Crime writers. In other words, prolific, ubiquitous, practically rules her genre--but essentially an empty writer of boiler plate. But this book, such as it is, is definitely a fascinating read for two reasons: one, Ted Bundy is among that rara avis, a serial ...

In the running for my favorite, favorite books. I still can't get over that Ann Rule was friends with Ted Bundy while she was writing the book about him, not knowing it was about him, etc. This book messed me up for weeks. If you think that people are basically good, you need to read this book. Time...

This was the first true crime book I've ever read. I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of it: it had a great pace, envoked just the right amount of shock and fear. The last 1/4 of the book I found myself losing interest as the author began rambling, the characters became harder to keep track of (due to ...

Amazing perspective of Ted Bundy from Rule's point of view, but I couldn't do better than 3 stars simply because it is such a disturbing story to begin with. While I don't think I've ever known the details of the Bundy killings, knowing he is one of the most notorious serial killers preceded my readi...

I think it would be interesting to compare this book with others written by [author:Ann Rule]. This book had a lot of personal information about Ms. Rule, which, given that she was friends with Ted Bundy, makes sense. But it was also a little distracting. In some respects I think she was too detai...
