I almost didn't finish this book. To say I found Eustacie frivolous and vapid would be an understatement, but fellow BL's said it was an entertaining read so I stuck with it. They were right, but those first three chapters almost killed me. At the end of the book, I still think Eustacie is frivo...

I finished this one back in October, and have delayed writing this review for reasons I can’t entirely explain. Actually, I have two more Heyer posts to write, and I won’t allow myself to post the third – The Marriage of Convenience – until I get the other two up. That is probably the only reason I ...

Yesterday's re-read. I remembered most of the plot, but I'd forgotten just how good Sarah Thane and Tristram Shield are together. The slow growth of their understanding is a thing of beauty. A Georgian rather than a Regency, for anyone who enjoys keeping count.

A re-read of one of my favorite Heyer's. I like the combination of humor, mystery and a little bit of danger. This is all sparkly wit, great plotting and enjoyable characters. The romance is low key and almost an after-thought, but you can't help but enjoy how Sarah and Tristam become aware and a...

How annoying were Eustacie and Ludovic? I cared so little about their fate and mostly did not find them amusing. I know they are a parody of young romantics and serve as a foil for the older and more sensible couple, but I really wanted Ludovic to get slapped at certain points where he insists on re...

Oh, I have wanted to re-read this one for a long time now and have just finally found an audio version on AudioGo. I already own every unabridged Georgette Heyer title on Audible.com (except the historicals because I don't wish to re-read them) so I was thrilled to finally find something I don't alr...

Fluffy, Georgian romance which is totally charming and delightful. There are mysterious rings, murder, cousins in exile, dying uncles, arranged marriages, runaway heiresses, smugglers, excise men, someone getting shot, upper class prats, priest holes & secret passages, evil cousins, Bow Street Runn...

When I started reading this book I thought I was not going to like it. I thought that Eustacie was the main character... and boy, she was feather-head in my opinion. Then, in the following chapters Sarah Thane appeared and all was good. She reminded me Abigail from Black Sheep... in her late-tweentie...

I used to watch the crap out of “Days of Our Lives”. I didn't watch daily; that's not really necessary with soaps. If you want to follow soaps, catch the odd Monday and Friday. Friday is when everything comes to a mini-crisis, ending on a maybe not so much a cliff- as a hill-hanger. Monday go-carts ...

My first finished Heyer's book after trying to read Black Moth and abandoned it halfway. It's funny and I love how they acted, bantered, and having a thoroughly good time trying to clear Ludovic's name from murder accusation. I might try other books from her if I can be sure that it's the same sort ...
