“Hello there! Aren’t you Winnie the Pooh? I’m a big fan.”“Yes I am. How do you know me?” Asked Pooh.“There have been many books written about you and your friends. The most recent one is about how you are a western Taoist.”“Oh.”“A western what?”“Taoist” I said, “it’s very hard to explain, I’m n...

This book was very disappointing. While there is some wisdom in it - slow your life down, try to live more harmoniously, etc - this had way too much of the "don't try, just let things happen and it will all work out" message that was present in Coelho's "The Alchemist."(Maybe Hoff was channeling Coe...

This is a precious, silly, funny little book. I have a really special fondness for Winnie the Pooh, having grown up with the books and the philosophy that Hoff connects with the Tao in this book. Is it an amazing, life-changing book? Probably not. But it's a fun read if you want to learn the basics ...

I think most of what I got from this book came from where I was when I finished it -- stuck in an elevator, waiting for the technicians to get unstuck in traffic. I have always loved Pooh bear so a philosophical slant of Pooh len...

Far better than the subsequent follow-up book. I thought the organization of The Tao of Pooh was far superior than the Te of Piglet because of it's very clear focus on just a single taoist principle in each chapter. The illustrations Hoff draws on from the Pooh narrative fit perfectly and seamless...

I read this recently. I had read the De of Piglet first and its so much better and I relate so much more with Piglet than I do with Pooh I couldn't enjoy this one as much. But alot of people I know really like this book and say that it helped them learn a bit about the philoshpy of Toasem. (sp?) Gi...

I read this in high school. Now, I'm not going to say that I know all about Tao philiospohy because I read this book, but it was easy to read and I felt a decent intro.
