Even though it took me ages for me to finish this book (fifty-one days, Goodreads tells me), I loved it from beginning to end. I didn't really like Interview with the Vampire, the first part of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, but this was so, so much better. Interview lacked speed, a certain captiva...

I have to say that I enjoyed this book more than its predecessor. I just love Lestat. And I thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning more of his background and how he came to be. Anne Rice kept me up into the night once again. Long live the Brat Prince!

This may be the book that started my vampire mania as a teenage girl. I found Lestat a fascinating character -- capable of cruelty and love, morally ambiguous, and wonderfully fun. I found his story so much more interesting than that of Louis in Interview With A Vampire, probably because Lestat embr...

Just re-read this one too. Lots more about mythology than I remembered. And so gay! Just really really gay. How funny that at the time I first read it I thought I was reading between the lines. Nope. Is it me or does the book collide into itself and fall apart about 3/4 of the way through? I was rac...

This was an amazing piece of literature! The descriptions were beautiful yet trippy. It's described the way I imagine an LSD trip would cause people to see and feel the world. The cliff hanger, though, was very cruel. Then again, that's what cliffhangers do.I will have to get to finishing Genji so I ...

I was somewhere between middle and high school, and craved for something dark. I've never read "The Interview", but seen the movie, so when I found a shelf in bookstore with Rice on it, I immediately reached for Lestat as the second in the series. And it comepletely blowed my mind back then. I remem...

Been a few years since I read this one, but I liked finding out where Lestat came from and the others he had interacted with over the years.

Slightly better than Interview, but the writing is so clunky and the characters so unlikeable that it just doesn't matter.

Book two of the Vampire Lestat was good for me too. I remember thinking, wow, I do like Lestat. Learning about his history and how he became the "rockstar" he is was interesting. It added more depth and kept me interested. The history was nice too.
