Even though it took me ages for me to finish this book (fifty-one days, Goodreads tells me), I loved it from beginning to end. I didn't really like Interview with the Vampire, the first part of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, but this was so, so much better. Interview lacked speed, a certain captiva...
I have to say that I enjoyed this book more than its predecessor. I just love Lestat. And I thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning more of his background and how he came to be. Anne Rice kept me up into the night once again. Long live the Brat Prince!

Book two of the Vampire Lestat was good for me too. I remember thinking, wow, I do like Lestat. Learning about his history and how he became the "rockstar" he is was interesting. It added more depth and kept me interested. The history was nice too.
