I've read most of the comics and watched all of the show. I wasn't really interested in reading the Governor's story, but I'm surprised by this. I liked it more than I assumed I would. Also his story isn't what I was expecting. You never know how someone will change or what personality is going ...

Having read the Walking Dead comics through volume 21 and watched the series on DVD (so I'm always one season behind--no spoilers, please), I already hated the Governor. When I first saw The Rise of the Governor in my library, I didn't feel that motivated to read it, because I HATE THAT GUY. But t...

I was stunned by this book. I simply love the walking dead. Both the series and the comics but this was the first time I got hold of a book describing it more closely. This story got hold of me from start to finnish. And what an end! I can really recommend Rise of the Governor to all fans of The ...

I liked seeing how the governor was "born". Much like the show it was slow in spots and then fast paced. I was biting my nails in many places.

The Rise of the Governor was a great start to this trilogy. It gave some (but not too much) background information for the graphic novels, and perfectly explained the way Philip Blake became who he is when we meet him in Volume Five. I still spent 95% of the book hating him, the first 5% I actually ...

I’ve become a bit of a Walking Dead fanatic, thanks mostly to the show. I knew there was an ongoing comic series, but the show was where I first discovered The Walking Dead, and as I wait between seasons for more stories, I find myself wanting to read more about the characters and the world they in...

I am a big fan of the Walking Dead television series, but I do not enjoy reading graphic novels (never really liked comic books as a kid either), so when the television show took the turn into this perfect little town where everyone seemed so happy despite the “walkers” outside their gates, I was a ...
