Ferris completely nails cube farm culture much in the way "The Office" and "Office Space" do. During parts of the novel I laughed out loud; in other places I cringed. In the end, I really felt like I knew these people and had worked with them. [full review]

I loved the voice, loved the characters, loved the ending. There aren't a great many second first* person plural narrators in the world of novels, but this one really works. Funny and touching. Forgive me: the only English grammar I ever got was Grammar rock Library copy

Life in the office, when things are good and as things grow worse. The stories pour out from the collective voices of the office personnel, dark, light, deep, insignificant, but always out of control. Never feels soap opera-ish, despite the growing despair of the staff facing layoffs and benefit cut...

Really enjoyed this one. It's genuinely funny, but Ferris manages to reveal depths in characters who could easily have been caricatures.
