I read it last night. It is pretty short, and I also liked it. Review forthcoming later today.
I'm in! Haven't read any Milan before.
This sounds great--I'm in

Just finished it! Thanks for starting this buddy read. I'm not sure I would have gotten to this book by my own since the Governess Affair didn't overly impress me. Now I'm looking even at that novella with a new light. I think I'll reread it.

5 Stars to The Duchess War!
I'm just about to start! I'm avoiding your updates right now until I can dig in a comfortable amount.
This book made me cry. I never cry over books (except Little Women, when, you know...)
I finished yesterday but still couldn't decide on how to rate it star-wise - and I may just give up trying! I enjoyed it but had to rawr over a couple of things.

Darnit, I forgot that links don't work. hmmm, will html?
Duchess War
(That's a "no, html links don't work either." Drat.)
We had a pretty good turn out for the first Romance buddy read on BL! Overall, it seemed like people enjoyed the book, and there were a bunch of posts that were tagged as part of the BR. What did people think? Can anyone come up with any ideas to improve the experience?
It would be possible - but twice as much work to do both. I like the idea of more interaction, but, at the same time, I like the fact that other people who aren't participating in the BR can still follow along with status updates. I think that a longer/more substantively difficult book might benefit more from happening in the discussion group. Different viewpoints would be more easily shared.
Great first BR! I'm excited to see what we'll be reading next. I agree, more discussion would be fun. I don't know if this would be practical with such a big group, but in my book club that I'm in on tumblr, we choose a time for us all to get on chatzy after having read the book to discuss what we thought of it. Of course, there are only 4 of us, so it's a lot easier to find a time that works for everyone, but that way we're all able to really discuss in depth.
I enjoyed it too and can't really think of any improvement - in fact I ended up staying up late to finish it because I got so into the story - which hasn't happened to me with romance in a while!
Need help?
