back to group
My notifications won't go past the first page. When I hit next, they keep bumping back to page one.

Thanks in advance.

Admin powers should be working smooth.

SubAdmins and Admins: please remember that you cannot delete the very first post in the discussion threat, in order to do so you have to delete the whole discussion.

SubAdmins you can delete discussion threats and posts

Admins you can do all of above and delete whole groups (after going through an extra security step to avoid deleting things by accident). The rest works as it should have before.

In case a user who has started a group, or discussion leaves BL we are going to take over the Admin role automatically (and possibly offer it to one of the keen users).

In case any of you experience any difficulties, let us know. And before you chime in (and you are welcome to do so), we do want to pimp up the discussions even more. Just a matter of time.

This has happened to me too. Loads of my books are UK editions, and they seem to have disappeared and replaced with different versions.
It looks like a bunch of mine have changed too. Older ones or UK/Canadian editions. It's annoying because having the correct covers is a big deal to me and I spent a lot of time hunting many of my old book covers down to find the exact one I have.

*SIGH*
Changing a cover or tying editions together shouldn't have any effect on status updates/lists for those currently reading the books; if this is the case, please BL can you please address this ASAP? It would be impossible to work on the db if we could only work on books that nobody on BL was currently reading.

Book merging should only take place when a book edition has a duplicate ISBN, an invalid ISBN, or is a modern (post 70's) edition lacking an ISBN (or ASIN) - and those should only be merged with editions by the same publisher that are in the same format with the same pub. date. I can sort of see how these might mess up current readers or their lists, but they shouldn't.

Short of deleting books (which librarians can't do) or flat out making mistakes (merging two completely different books) the reader should never be affected by librarian work in a negative way.

Evaine - Is it the covers that have changed or the entire record (i.e., has the ISBN # changed too?). I'm curious about why UK/CA editions would suddenly disappear, as they usually have their own ISBNs.

BL currently doesn't have a way to include alternative covers for the same ISBN record, which is a pain, but hopefully temporary.

If the books that have changed are pre-ISBN, and you feel like doing it, PM me with a list of the titles/pub dates/publishers and I'll try to restore those records.

ETA: you too Books, Hockey. :)
Thanks MbD. The covers have definitely changed and it certainly looks as if it's my UK editions. I've not had chance to check out the ISBNs yet, but I'll try to do that tomorrow.

OMG, MBD! *LOL* These are books that are stowed up in my bookshelves in my sittingroom, mostly from the 70's and 80's from what I can quickly tell. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll see if I can pull out a few relevant ones. :)
Oh, and if anyone's keeping track, I got email notification of MBD's post twice. :)
Two quick examples. If you look at my shelf you will see my Jasper Fford books. The first two in the series I had the UK edition paperbacks. These have now changed to something completely different with a different ISBN.

I figured it wasn't just one or two books, but I'm happy to restore whatever you feel like giving me. :)

Ok, I'll look at those now (it will be a nice distraction from Heyer).
Not ignoring you just checking all of these. (Notifications are being reviewed) Will be back with more details soon.
