Murder by Death - Yes, I have confirmed that all my emails have started with an "i". So far I have sent at least 5 to this address plus several to the Contact address. I am resending more today along with one to "Kate" which was mentioned above as well. At this point, I have heard nothing.

I would settle for just a damn verification code and I could attempt to start a new account, but still nothing on that front either. I am not sure why that even exists at all but whatever.

Again, thanks all!

Hmmm. Both come up fine for me -- I copied and pasted the ISBNs from your post, with an extra space to move the cursor back and forth (that's key to a copy and paste search; otherwise the system won't recognize that you're putting something into the search bar to begin with). Just make sure to delete the extra space again; the search engine won't find the books unless the end result of your copy & paste operation is nothing but the ISBN in the search bar. (No hitting of 'enter' necessary that way, either, btw.)

I tried by ISBN on the second and it worked for me. I both hit enter, and it took me to a search page, then went back and searched while waiting for it to look and it worked.

This isn't to say that you're doing anything wrong, but who know, things might be working for some people and not others.

I tried both methods with Covenant of Primus, one of my favorite books, and both ways worked, too.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I figured I'd give it a go and see if it was a site wide problem. The only other thing I can think of is that sometimes it goes really slowly when my internet connection is slow.

I just cut and paste the ISBN number. It's working for ISBNs and titles for me, but I've noticed it has to be spelled exactly or else it thinks nothing exists.

Glad to give it a go. Yeah, I'm thinking that could be it. BL can get horribly slow at the best of times, so crossing fingers that that's it, and that you get better weather soon!

I've noticed this can happen with other sites, too, and it has more to do with the connection than the site. If the internet is lagging, I'll log off wifi and back in.

I know it's easy to do on the iPhone and I suspect on the iPad. If that doesn't work, I'll go through restarting, but just an FYI, sometimes just rebooting the wifi can work just as well.
Well another week and still no response. :(
Still no notifications for anything on my end and no replies to emails either. You're not alone. Well, you're alone in the sense that BL is gone, but not alone in being alone...
;) thank you Cheri. Yes I've lost email notifications again too.
I'm sorry you both are having trouble; I'm still getting email notifications as of two hours ago (when the last 'like' happened).

AGandyGirl: what issues are you trying to get resolved by BookLikes? You mentioned in one of your earlier posts problems with books/shelves. If you wouldn't mind elaborating a bit, perhaps one of us can lend a hand?
Well I had entered my books from GR several years ago. Then added more books a few months ago. Leafmarks closed down so I had to update my entire catalog and did this on GR to get the right csv file. When I uploaded the new file to BL it only added new ones. It does not copy over reviews already in BL. So hundreds of my reviews did not come over. I reached out to BL then with suggestions...like could they delete my catalog so I could upload a new csv file. Course I heard nothing. So I finally saw where I could delete my books in BL in bulk...like 50 books at a time. So I did that thinking I could then just reimport. Well it would not import any of the books which I had"deleted" at all. So at that point 0 books were showing and no shelves while it said 800 plus books and reviews were imported. I think they may be in the system but none are showing up in my profile/shelves/etc. I have tried again and only new books (previously not in my catalog here) are showing up so that's 7. :(. I have said I can just create a new profile and start over but I can't get the code to do that either. So I'm stuck.

Sorry for the long message.

And I got no notification for your post Murder By Death. :(

If the problem is net connectivity on their side, it would be nice to hear that, just to confirm.

So, wow, things are devolving. They seem to get better and worse, then better, then worse again. I still love BL, but, man...

I don't have any idea how to fix it, but I think I know (maybe) why it's doing it. Before I say anything, can you give me the name/isbn of a book you deleted from the BL database but would like to be able to re-import?

Actually, I might be able to find one.... be back.

ETA: Ok, I found one of your reviews on a book by Roan Parrish: Out of Nowhere (Middle of Somewhere Book 2) here:
http://juliehasmoved.booklikes.com/post/1410538/out-of-nowhere-middle-of-somewhere-book-2

I checked and that book is not on your shelves (although the review with the book linked is on your blog).

I'm guessing what happened is a by-product of the "we never delete your reviews" functionality: when you deleted the books off your shelves, the system retained the reviews and the books they were linked to, but removed the reference to them from your shelves. When you tried to re-import them, the system saw them as duplicates and by-passed them so that your reviews/ratings weren't repeated.

I don't know if you could re-add the book and then get it linked to that review or not... I want to say there's no way to do that, but I'd have to play around with it.

If this is one of your GR/LM books that you have a backup review for, it might be worth deleting your blog post on that book (or another of your older books) to see if it would then allow you to re-import it (if you're good/comfortable with .csv files, you can create a duplicate of the GR or LM export, remove all the books except this one from it, then re-import here.) Just know if you try this you'll lose comments attached to whatever post you delete.

This might not work, and even if it does it might not be very practicable unless there's a way to mass delete blog entries. But it might help to make more sense of why the system isn't letting you do what sounds like a simple thing.
HA! It worked! At least the way I tried it worked...

I have two copies of Mansfield Park on my shelves, but only one had a review tied to it. I edited that review and added the other, unreviewed book to it (in the add books section).

When I refreshed my shelves, the unreviewed copy now showed the review.

Again, I'm not sure how practical this is going to be for masses of books, but it seems you should be able to re-add a book to your shelves from within BL, find your review of it on your blog, edit it and add the "new" book. If it is the exact same edition, you might have to remove the book, re-add it and then save. That should, in theory, re-link your book to your review.

As I said, I don't know if it's a practical solution for you, but I thought I'd post this just in case it might be useful for anyone else.
