Good set-up Carol :O)
I'm Bettie; I knit , I read and I run from grrrrramazon monstehz.
Hey -- you beat me to this place, and there I was thinking of iviting you ... hah.
TA checking in. Used to knit (MANY years ago), still read, and when doing neither that nor getting comfortable around here, most likely going to be found playing with my cat (the only one of formerly three that's still around, alas).
Like Bettie, also trying to get as much ground as possible between myself and "the other place" (think Hamlet IV, 3 -- Hamlet to Claudius, see http://www.project-hamlet.info/play/IV-3.html#WhereIsPolonius for reference.)
The king tells Hamlet that he must leave at once for England, and Hamlet enthusiastically agrees?
I read, I knit, I have a cat in my lap at present.

*waves at susanna* Now TA - I didn't know you used to knit.
Hopefully, my spore will never have to be dispersed again.

I have to stop myself from joining every group that gets created! I was just so excited that we got groups so quickly, I went on a joining spree.

Bettie: No, I actually meant this bit:
"King: Where is Polonius?
Hamlet: In heaven. Send thither to see. If your messenger find him not there, seek him i' th' other place yourself."
Though with Susanna, I'd happily settle for England as well ... ;)

Knitting days were a LONG time ago -- when I still had time for such indulgences (and enough people willing to wear what I was producing. :)
I wish we had italics in discussion posts (and blog/dashboard comments, for that matter), the ability to post "live" links -- and the ability to post images!
And yes, I too hope we're here for good!
In re: #13: I'm reminded of a ghost romance by Elswyth Thane from the 30s, where the hero has the choice of heaven or England, and takes England.

I just read that as "cake OF death" initially ... ;)
