I was reminded of this by some of the ongoing discussions here, but this is a little different take on it. The idea is that you pick one trope for each category. I am borrowing this idea from The Slash Pile.
I cleaned up the title, but in the original it is "fuck" not "date".
Marry: The trope you love through thick and thin. Explain why you love it so much, and/or give a rec! . . .
Fuck: You like this trope on the surface, but it usually disappoints you. What do you want to see done differently, so you can make a commitment?
Dump: There's no saving it. Explain why.

Here are mine from that discussion:
Marry: time travel/parallel universes/alternate realities. I love the idea of most things being the same, but some important things aren't, and how does it all play out?
Fuck: paranormal creatures. I like the idea of them - there is potential for intensity, scariness, nonhuman-ness that is appealing. But usually the werewolf or whatever is just a guy who's maybe extra bossy or jealous.
Dump: slavery is good.
My HTML didn't take so that post is more confusing than it needed to be ...
Marry: the chosen one
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheChosenOne Because I love the idea of a person who saves the day. Happy, happy. This character can be a Gary Stu -- easily, but it's not the same as a Gary Stu.
Date: alpha/omega werewolf pairings. For the yaoi-y smut, enough said.
Dump: sad ending. Find it pointless to read. If I know there's a fiery explode-sy trainwreck (figuratively) at the end, why would I stay for the trip?
