If you want to discuss one of the film/movie/television adaptations, this is the place. Complaints about Kenneth Branagh's mustache are properly levied below.
I heartily approve of this discussion thread. :D #Suchetrulez

I am still mad about the ABC Murders that I just watched via Amazon Prime. It was awful.
Oh geez, don't even get me started on Branagh. I watched Orient Express on and off during (of all things) a train journey last summer, and I had to stop because it was making me so ragey. He turned Poirot into an obsessive buffoon.
Why did he (Branagh)needed to run about with a gun? And why did it not start in Istanbul?

It should have started in Aleppo. Now, I get that the filming could not be done in Aleppo - obviously - but that is what studios are for...or other locations! Still, the story should have started in Aleppo!

It was truly awful, wasn't it? :(

All, I'm saying - Poirot in a gun fight! It's just wrong. There were many things wrong with that film, but Poirot in a gun fight just topped everything else.
I love how everyone is trashing the Branagh movie :). Not a fan either. The depiction of Poirot in that movie was atrocious.

I cringed with the gun fight part. Like, physically shrunk down in my chair and made this face:

So, so bad.
Mind you,Branagh his moustache looked more authentic than Malkovich his goatee ...
Also, can I just add how terrible the whole "unrequited love" subplot was? Ergh.

That sucked!

I had issues with Murder on The Orient Express too, but like you said, at least he had the moustache.
Need help?
