3.5 stars. Written in the first person from werewolf Ethan's pov. Twenty year old Ethan finds his true mate in 400 year old vampire Miguel. I wondered if this was set in the past as Ethan uses such quaint old-fashioned language but Miguel has a car so I guess not. A little too schmaltzy for my taste...
- Narrator: Charlie DavidI was almost skimming the sex-scenes!!! Almost……Sjeeeesh so much sex, semen and blood.Ethan Abbatt is a werewolf and his whole life he had to live with the fact that he’s different and hasn’t been able to shift into his wolf-form. He meets Miguel, a 400 year old vampire and...
Even though this book is the 2nd in the series, it's story takes place first chronologically. I really loved getting the background and connections from book 1 explained. This book started out okay for me and got better as it went, much the same as the first book was in my opinion. When the mytholo...
This second addition to the series was completely different in tone and voice. Where the first book was steeped in a huge amount of UST (I guess really unresolved sexual completion) this one starts off immediately. The longing, desperate tone is absent and I think I kinda missed it. However Ethan...
Book 2 in the Mates series, just as quickly devoured as the first one, tells the story of Ethan Abbatt, a young shifter who can't shift, and Miguel Rodriguez, a centuries old, powerful vampire. If you've read book 1, you might remember them as the mated pair who come to Jonah and Zev's assistance, a...
This series is totally making me rethink this author, as I loved both books. They didn't suffer from any over sweetness, which I had come to expect from this author. Ethan was adorably innocent, and a not so little bit country. For other people, this might be off putting, but coming from the sticks ...
I really liked this one, in fact I got into it more than the first installment. Probably because there were no flashbacks...this whole story was a flashback to explain the WTFs from the first one. I also enjoyed this take on the Vampire/Shifter myths.
Reread 5/8/14-5/9/14I didn't love this as much the second time around! It was a bit too insta love for me but hey, it is shifters and true mates! Hot sex. Very hot. Original ReviewWow! I loved this book and the relationship between two very unlikely heroes. Sex was hot. Lots of feelz. Solid HEA....
